Disney Dollars Were Taken Thanks To Dick Durbin

Chase began, one of the largest source of debit cards, said its customers as a result of legislation sponsored by Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) the company will not be able to offer Disney dream reward dollars.
Wall Street is pressing hard in recent weeks on the law by the Senate what is known as the delay as "a slap in repair fees," which requires the federal system that would reduce the amount of pay vendors for the use of debit cards to write to buffer the amount of "reasonable."
Chase demand comes amid a dramatic battle behind the scenes in the Senate that the Democrats dig against the Republicans and Democrats against Republicans, and Wal-Mart to Wall Street.
"We have treated adult yet, but there is no such thing as Wall Street banks to show their muscle strength," said Durbin HuffPost.
In the Senate Thursday, the second man accused in the Senate Democrat tried to follow the Senate to express his letters to customers. "Now, banks and credit card companies and pull all the stops. I learned yesterday that the Chase, which is one of the largest publishers of these debit cards in America, wrote a letter to its customers in several states, and said: You know, if you remember the Amendment Durbin, and we end up in a position where we are not able to give you all the rewards we offer you credit and debit cards, "said Durbin.
Durbin spokesman did not have a copy of the letter complained. HuffPost gave Chase a sample sent to customers, but declined to respond to the charge and Durbin.
"Congress recently enacted a new law known as the Durbin amendment that significantly affects debit cards," and stressed the message with the original sample."Because of this law, we will change our rewards discount. On July 12, 2011 will not earn Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM Disney Rewards when you use your debit card."

Jennifer Garner To Star In Young Reboot

This beloved classic is getting a facelift. Quite literally.

Disney has closed a deal for a big screen reboot of Agatha Christie's "Miss Marple" mystery novel series, and the House of Mouse is making substantial changes to the story. Deadline reports that, instead of the British grandma Jane Marple portrayed in the books and in previous big screen incarnations, the film series will instead feature a young, far more svelte amateur sleuth, to be played by Jennifer Garner.

Garner, of course, has plenty of screen experience when it comes to solving mysteries, starring in the longrunning TV spy show, "Alias." This will be a bit different; the novels, 12 in all, were written from the 1930-70's. Whether the films will stay in that considerable span of time, or be brought up to date has yet to be announced.

Marple has been played by a number of notable actors, both on TV and the big screen. The first films starred Margaret Rutherford, while Angela Landsbury took on the role in the star-studded "The Mirror Crack'd," which included Tony Curtis and Elizabeth Taylor.

celebration, FLorida The World Similar To Utopia

celebration, FLorida The World Similar To Utopia : Celebration, Florida is the world which was created for the life of luxury and comfort and safety but the Disney Celebration, Florida seems to be on the verge of destruction. It was thought that Celebration, Florida will serve as an antidote from the difficulties and problems of large cities . It will prove a heavenly safe atmosphere as an Utopian world of white picket fences and palm trees. It will be free from the Social crimes like muggings, robberies or murder. But the idea seems to be shattered because One of their citizens was killed in their home. The murder of 58-year-old man was the first –reported – major crime in 14 years. The town has almost 3,000 citizens living in about 950 households and one murder in many years is a bit of safe environment.

Mickey Mouse is now Hulk's Father

In what should be bigger news, Disney is making a 4 BILLION dollar offer to buy Marvel. Disney calls it "quality branded content". Can we be so sure?

Will Marvel just be a cash cow subsidiary of Disney or will Disney, Disneyfy Marvel with less character in their characters shunning violent content and dictating story lines.

Disney is well known for creative freedom but within their guidelines which in reality is not true creative freedom, it's just a cordoned off play-ground in which to operate. If that theology is forced on Marvel characters and stories, then the characters we see now will become bland and dull by comparison to the stories in the past.

Disney's representative on the deal Robert Iger was happy to announce, "We believe that adding Marvel to Disney's unique portfolio of brands provides significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation," conspicuously absent was the reassurance that the Marvel property would retain it's integrity.

Disney stands to gain over 5000 Marvel characters and the intellectual Marvel universe in which they live.

Tribeca/ESPN Sports Announce 2009 Trailer Competition

The Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival announced a competition to find the official trailer for the 2009 Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival. For the first time in the three-year history of the Festival, Tribeca and ESPN have created a unique competition to find the official Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival trailer that will be scheduled to play prior to all of the films in this year’s sports film festival. The 2009 Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival will take place during the Tribeca Film Festival, April 22 through May 3, 2009.

To participate in the competition, contestants will need to shoot a reenactment of a scene from a classic sports film. Three scenes from two classic Walt Disney Pictures, Remember The Titans and Cool Runnings, have been preselected for contestants to recreate. All recreations of the scenes should keep within the spirit of the original film and be under 30 seconds. A panel of Tribeca and ESPN notables will select the top submissions and choose the final winner. The competition begins Monday, January 5, 2009 and ends Saturday, March 7, 2009.

“Sports and movies have always had a love affair and the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival brings together fans of both,” said Nancy Schafer, Co-Executive Director of the Tribeca Film Festival. “We believe this competition will be a creative opportunity for people to get involved with this Festival and we look forward to viewing the submissions.”

Keith Clinkscales, ESPN senior vice president, content development and enterprises said, “We believe great sports stories are just waiting to be told, or in this case, re-told. This competition captures the spirit of our collaboration with Tribeca by encouraging a multitude of voices and perspectives from both veteran and emerging filmmakers.”

Contestants should log on http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=tribeca/trailer/contest
to download the script pages to both films and then submit their videos. These selected shorts will be featured on www.espn.com, beginning in early April 2009.

In addition to having the scene play as the official trailer for the 2009 Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, the grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to New York City (including airfare and hotel accommodations) for two nights to attend the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival, dinner for two at the ESPN Zone, one Apple TV with an I-Tunes gift certificate in the amount of $100, and a 17-inch Apple Mac Book Pro fully loaded with Leopard OS and Final Cut studio.

Miley Cyrus' Disney Birthday Bash

What do you get a teenage girl who has everything for her birthday? Well, for Miley Cyrus, Disney was shut down for her Sweet Sixteen Birthday Celebration over the weekend. The Hannah Montana star performed on a floating stage in front 5,000 fans, each of whom spent $250 for tickets. The celebration lasted until about 11 p.m.

“My parents shut down Disneyland for me, so I’m good for a while,” Miley Cyrus said, prior to an early 16th birthday celebration at the amusement park. Well, at least she recognizes that! My sweet sixteen was at my house in New Jersey with a homemade birthday cake! Ha!

Celebs like David Archuleta, Demi Lovato, Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford, and Steve Carell, were all in attendance for the bash. Geez, those are some big names to be attending the little starlet's 16th birthday. This picture was taken of Cyrus performing on stage for her tween fans at her birthday party.

Camp Rock[s] Ratings

The Disney Channel's Friday night premiere of the Cinderella-like "Camp Rock" drew in 8.9 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Tweens, or those between 9- and 14-years of age made up 3.4 million of the viewers.

"Camp Rock" became Disney's second-most-watched TV movie of all time, right behind last summer's "High School Musical 2," which had 17.2 million viewers, making it the all-time most-watched entertainment telecast on basic cable.

However, "Camp Rock" did beat the 7.8 million viewers of the original "High School Musical."

The newest Disney made-for-TV movie will be rebroadcast on ABC's "Wonderful World of Disney" on Saturday and on ABC Family on Sunday.

The film stars newcomer Demi Lovato, pegged as the next Miley Cyrus, as a girl who can only afford to attend a summer music camp after her mother gets a job working in the kitchen. It also features the Jonas Brothers, who have just released their new single, "Burning Up," from their upcoming album, A Little Bit Longer.

Disney Pixie Gets Star On Wall of Fame

The fictional Disney fairy, Tinkerbell, has become an icon! It's official, Miss Belle will be receiving a star on Hollywood's famous curbside Wall of Fame next year. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Committee carefully chose the suitable receipients to be given stars yesterday.

Other winners to have stars put in their names next year are actor Hugh Jackman, Ben Kingsley, and The Village People. What an honor! We wonder if Tinkerbell will show up for the ceremony?

Jonas Brothers sign book deal

The Jonas Brothers have followed in the steps of fellow teen star Miley Cyrus. The trio signed a deal with Disney Book Group to publish their first book, an exclusive behind-the-scene view of the band.

The book will be published under the Disney-Hyperion Books imprint and will be out in the fall.

"We have such an amazing time performing at our concerts, and to be able to chronicle all of the fun for our fans and readers is just incredible for us," Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas said in a statement. "We hope our fans get to relive our shows and discover things they haven't seen before through our book."

More racy Miley Cyrus pics

Disney star Miley Cyrus has not been able to keep her nose clean for long. More racy pictures of the 15-year-old teen icon have been making the rounds online. This time Miley is seen holding up her t-shirt and showing her bra, and also revealing lacy, red underwear.

Reports have stated that Cyrus sent the photos to former boyfriend Nick Jonas, who she was dating at the time.

The 'Hannah Montana' actress' father and co-star, Billy Ray, said his daughter will bounce back from the photo scandals despite the outrage because she is a positive person and is "too upbeat to stay down for long."

"The thing you got to look at in life, whether you're an entertainer or whether you're a farmer... whatever you do in life, there's going to be peaks and valleys. I think one of the things my dad taught me and hopefully I instilled in Miley, is that when you get knocked down, you got to get back up because it's not going to do any good to lie on the ground and cry about it," Billy Ray Cyrus said. I think she has a lot to be proud of. I think the positive far outweighs the negative."

But that isn't all the controversy for the teen queen. The Los Angeles-based rock band Lustra has accused Cyrus of plagiarizing and invited her to an onstage showdown.

Lustra claims Cyrus's "Rock Star" is an exact copy of their song "Scotty Doesn't Know," which was on the soundtrack for the 2004 film Europtrip.

But the band decided to deal with the situation outside of the courtroom. They invited Cyrus to perform her song at L.A.'s Viper Room on Thursday to let fans decide if the songs are the same.

"Lustra would play their song 'Scotty Doesn't Know,' followed by Ms. Cyrus' 'Rockstar,' and then let their fans decide," the group's spokesman was quoted on Contactmusic.com.

But the band also has another idea for repayment.

"Another way to rectify this is to have Lustra appear on 'Hannah Montana' as themselves," the spokesman added. "Lustra could appear on the show as Hannah's musical influence."

"We could share even more of our songs with Ms. Cyrus, just as long as we get credit for it, which is what we have wanted all along," said Lustra guitarist Nick Cloutman.

Miley Cyrus thanks fans

Miley Cyrus performed Saturday night for the first time since her Vanity Fair photo scandal erupted a week ago. The teen star was on hand to sing a set at the Disney Channel Games concert in Orlando, although she did skip Friday's Disney Channel Games media party.

Miley thanked her fans prior to performing: "First of all I think all of us here can say thank you," she said. "I can't think of how many would stand in the rain to come in here. Thank you all for coming out tonight, you're all amazing."

She kicked off the night with her hit single "See You Again," and also debuted two songs that will appear on her upcoming album, set for release July 22.

"I hope you had an awesome time," Cyrus told the audience after her performance. "I saw a sign back there that said, 'Miley, I'm praying for you.' I could not be more appreciative. Thank you guys for all your support. Without you, none of this would be possible. I love every one of you and I could not be more appreciative. God bless you."

Cyrus clearly tried to convey a more youthful vibe, as she posed for pictures with Mickey and Minnie.

She was joined by fellow Disney acts The Jonas Brothers, the Cheetah Girls, Camp Rock star Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt. The show capped off the week-long Disney Channel games, and the concert will air in July.
