How to apply makeup in 10 steps

How to apply makeup in 10 steps

Author: danielmyles

The 10 steps

1.Apply a concealer with a shade lighter than your foundation. You can mix with your fingers or a sponge- this is designed to hide dark circles.
2. Select a foundation colour that matches your skin tone. Apply in the central part of your face, and then blend with a sponge or your fingers until it covers it completely.
3. Use powder to keep foundation and concealer in place - choose a loose powder with the texture of your choice.
4. Use eye shadow powder instead of paste. Apply with a brush.
5. Choose three colours of eye shadow: more light, medium, and very dark. Use the black on the upper eyelid to draw a fine line along the upper lashes. Then use the middle and end with the lighter.
6. Use eyeliner with a wet brush or pencil to define the eye area below the lashes. Line only two-thirds of the lower eyelid, especially if you're going for a darker look.
7. Apply mascara to top and bottom lashes, in two thin layers to prevent dough from forming. Choose brown mascara for a dark complexion.
8. Apply blush a colour similar to that of your complexion
9.Apply a tone of red lipstick that suites you best
10.Then highlight the contour of your lips using a lip pencil

Additional Tips

* Follow the steps in the order given and do not forget to clean and moisturize your face before applying makeup.
* Choose shades lighter or darker to emphasize the month or eyes.
* Makeup brushes should be clean. You can wash them gently in warm water with mild soap. Allow to air dry overnight.
* Do not skimp on makeup tools. The high-quality tools make the task easier and faster.
* The bacteria proliferate in cosmetics and can cause infections. Do not keep products that are too old and avoid sharing make up with others.

A Guide to Types of Foundation

A Guide to Types of Foundation

Author: Charlotte Bleasdale

For many women foundation, or base, is an everyday essential and for even more it's a must for when they get blemishes or need a little extra boost. But ensuring you have the right foundation is essential or you could get a covering that doesn't suit your skin type or shade. This guide should help highlight the main features of different types of foundation and what kind to use for your skin type.

Liquid (water or oil based)

A liquid foundation is extremely popular and versatile. You can choose from both water and oil based varieties with water based being best for oilier skin and oil based for those with dryer skin. The coverage of a liquid is completely reliant on how much you use which makes it great for anyone who wants versatility.

Creams

Creams are a fabulous choice for anyone with dry skin. The creamy texture gives a relatively thick coverage eliminating the need for concealer. Cream base gives a moisturised, dewy effect but because they're so moisturising they should not be used on combination skin.

Mousse

A current trend is the mousse foundation. Mousse or foam foundations give very light coverage. The advantage of this is that you don't feel it on your skin, but unfortunately it only gives a very light coverage. If you've got relatively good skin that just needs evening out a little mousse could be perfect for you!

Liquid to powder

Cream foundations that become a powder once applied are ideal for people with oily skin. The powdery texture will absorb excess oil but the liquid starting point makes it easy to apply. This variety lasts really well and gives a nice, even coverage.

Mineral make up

Mineral make up is the latest craze. Mineral make up is ideal for those with sensitive skin as it is hypoallergenic. It's also easy to build up your desired coverage with a mineral powder – just apply with a large brush.

Tinted moisturiser

A moisturiser with foundation or tinted moisturiser is perfect if you want light coverage that's good for your skin. Tinted moisturisers are a good starting point for teenage girls and work best on dry skin. You'll get a light, coverage that leaves your skin feeling smooth.

Choosing your favourite foundation should be based on your skin type, skin shade, favourite feel and look and favourite application technique. If you find one you like for all the categories then it's worth getting the two shades either side of your usual colour. That way if you have a tan or notice any changes in your skin tone you can mix your colour until it is just right!

When to Toss Cosmetics from Your Makeup Bag?

When to Toss Cosmetics from Your Makeup Bag?

Author: annebrown1

Women love cosmetics and makeup. Today there are loads of cosmetics brands to choose from. But do you know the face that your favourite lipstick do has an expiry date and so your other cosmetics makeup products. Every cosmetic has shelf life that you use every day and you need to toss them after expiration dates. Otherwise these old products may cause skin irritation, rashes and acne.

Here we help you to find out when to toss cosmetics from makeup bag and their estimated expiration dates. Just keep it in your mind that if you are using natural or herbal products then you can last it for long time.

Let have a look at the general life of various makeup/cosmetics products

Mascara: You can use mascara for 3 to 4 months only because a mascara stick picks up bacteria from the eye area with each use. If you find your mascara gets dry before expiration date then toss it as soon as possible.

Eyeliners : Eyeliners are lasting about 4 to 6 months. The pencil eyeliner last up for long time as compare to liquid eyeliner.

Multiuse Products: Multiuse products like powder, lipstick can be last up to 6 months. Take good care of yourself by wiping the surface of the product dirt free before changing from one mark to another.

Cream based Products: All the cream or liquid based products like moisturizers, foundation, concealer, and cream blush last for 1 to 2 years. Always use these products with brushes and sponges to keep them clean for long time.

Nail Polish: The shelf life of nail polish is very long that is 2 years. When you find your nail polish color has separated from the oil in the bottle then it is out of date and you need to toss it out.

Powder-based Products: Products like face powder, eye shadow, powder blushes, bronzer are last for long time about 2 to 3 years than other cosmetics.

Some tips for cosmetics products care

If you do not know the expiration date and forget when you bought then toss the products when you feel bad smell. Also when you get an infection on your face then immediately throw out products that you have used. You should clean the makeup brushes, tweezers, eyelash regularly to rid of germs and other bacteria.

Lipstick Color Choice Tips

Lipstick Color Choice Tips

Lipstick can metamorphose any woman, but on condition that it is a good and pertinent lipstick. It is not so difficult to find a perfect brand to use, but what about texture and color... there things are worse than you think for. A mismatched lipstick can make sad work of your make up.

The question is that lipstick usually does not have the same color in the tube and after you've applied it. That is the first problem, the consistence is the other. You may choose liquid lipstick, cream lipstick or traditional solid form, herewith permanent lipsticks usually overdry your lips skin, and by the way everything depends on the skin type.

The color choice depends on what are you looking for.
Basic tones of your lipstick may create different impressions:

•
Red or pink colors. Warm and deep colors as well. Make your face look more bright and appreciable. These are classic style colors. But, take care! These colors, especially red can make more noticeable all the red tones in your skin.

•
Yellow or orange colors. They make your face warmer, and softer. These colors are ideally suited for warm skin tones, but do not fit for really pale faces at all, looks unnatural. They can also emphasize the green or blue undertones in your skin. Drop the handkerchief to the yellow tone; it is fit to more people than orange. If you over-indulge orange your skin can look gray and withered.

•
Green and blue ones. This casts can make the lipstick color deeper. Look at it with great care! And better stay away.

•
Silver and grey. Give twinkle, gentleness, deepness to your lips. Visually volumize lips and stump contour, that is why they are so popular now.

When you will use your new lipstick:
- Try not to copy in your real lips color, but to choose a color that complements your skin tone and shade the natural color of your lips.

- If you are not teen, prefer medium tones (pinks, peaches and beiges), no extreme colors.

- Try deeper colors if you have dark hair and light skin (choose caramel or deep pink).

- If you have medium skin and hair you may try any color you wish, being geared to your eyes color.

- Leave plum or wine lipstick for women with dark skin.

- Use light browns if you have an olive skin tone or have a perfect tan.

- Remember about your
eye makeup, it should belong together your lipstick and as any makeup accentuate your beauty and individuality.

PerfeKt Eye

I must say the above Eye Perfection Gel is great product for delicate eyes as it helps reduce the appearance of fine line and wrinkles.

Why called perfect? because not only is it rich in vitamins, like mentioned above it helps reduce wrinkles, it also contains a multi tasking formula which glides on easily leaving your eyes smooth and soft.
Oh I mustn't forget it's cucumber extract , that will definitely bring out the cooling effect leaving your eyes feeling refresh.

Besides all the above benefits what I really love about this product is it can be used alone or as a primer to eyeshadow.

With Perfekt you can now say goodbye to the tired looking eyes! No more puffiness but bright and beautiful eyes!
