Fashion Styles

Fashion Style’s

By Carly Phillips

Every changing season of the year brings an opportunity to take inventory of your clothing and accessories. Professional designers and clothing companies go to great lengths to keep up with the current styles and fashions. As a result, you the consumer benefits from this process. All media outlets, including television, internet, magazines and radio promote all the latest trends in clothing and wardrobe. We are now at the time of year where many women begin thinking about their fashion for summer 2011.

Summer styles always have a base necessity, regardless of the year. In other words, no matter what year it is, a timeless and traditional article of clothing are the Capri or clam digger pants with a camisole top and sandals. These are generally made of lightweight and breathable material. They are longer than shorts and drop to around the mid-calf area of the leg. Many consider them to be very comfortable and versatile. You can buy these garments in a casual or dress style for any occasion.

Camisoles are also a very popular choice this time of year. Many women also wear them as undergarments during the fall and winter. However, in the warmer months, you can wear them by themselves. There are several styles, colours and fits to remember when shopping for them. The sloped, V-neck or boxed neckline allow for plenty of area to accessorize with Costume Jewellery. Summer time brings out the ability to wear your favourite necklaces, bracelets, charms, earrings and rings. Your Fashion Jewellery is always a must have!

Other items to consider this summer are handbags, in particular . Black Tote Bags, shoes, beach wear clothing, sunglasses, bikinis and summer dresses. There are fashionable clothing designers and makers from around the world that provide trendy yet affordable options. There are several trends to look for this year when shopping. One of these trends includes 1970 styles. Watch out for fluid designs with sweeping floor length skirts and dresses. Also on the comeback trail are disco miniskirts, wide legged and flared pants and crop tops.

It doesn't take long to also notice the appearance of fringing and feathers. Many designers are using decorative dresses that trimmed in feathers. This is a throwback to the old Hollywood fashion scene from decades ago. Neon colours such as pink, marigold and blue curacao are also being marketed. These vibrant colours pop in to summer fashion giving a fresh and bold look.

Of course mixing and matching styles and prints is nothing new, however, using eclectic prints can take your fashion sense to whole different level. These prints include plaids, polka dots, florals, paisley, stripes and animal print. Another print that is also picking up in popularity is fruit. Especially during the hotter times of the year, fruit shapes and patterns help to elevate the senses and make things more whimsical. By mixing these various prints and patterns you display an air of fun and confidence.

Believe it or not, a look that continues to be more and more socially acceptable is the pyjamas, or the underwear as outerwear trend. This look was inspired in the 1990 era. It includes string tie pants, kimonos, silk pyjamas, sarongs and other kinds of underpinnings. Colours are of a wide variety as well. This look promotes a sheer minimalistic style. So why not try something new this season.

Yes, Accessorize!

Yes, Accessorize!

By Tammy Ussery

You have found your dream prom dress, now what? Now it is time to coordinate what is arguably the most important step of your prom ensemble- The accessories! Fabulous prom dress shops that carry everything from the dresses and accessories to undergarment accessories are ideal for one-stop shopping. Accessorizing your perfect dress with hair, makeup, shoes and accessories is the last step, and arguably the most exciting one!

Let the fun begin! One of the most thrilling parts of putting together an ensemble is hair. One basic rule of matching hair to a dress is an up-do for halter and one-shoulder necklines and hair down for strapless and spaghetti strap. Up-do's are generally expected for dresses that include the neck in the design, like halter and one-shoulder necklines, simply because having the hair down can muddle the design and crowd the neck space. The right up-do for you and your dress can vary greatly. You might want a glamorous up-do with all of your hair up, a glamorized ponytail, or half-up half down. If you have a detailed or a revealing, open back, your might want to choose to have a complete up-do to put that on display. Two exceptions for this rule is if you have short hair or if you will wear your hair sleek, straight, and pulled straight down your back. All down hairstyles have been all-the-rage for the past few years. The beautiful famous celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry are all sporting fabulous long-do's. Pretty much any dress is deemed appropriate for wearing your hair styled down. The main deciding factor is personality. Girls with more of a classic, sophisticated, and or polished style and personality might prefer an standard up-do, while girls with more of a fun, trendy, and or free-spirited style and personality might prefer to wear the hair down. An ideal middle ground between an up-do and down style, is the half-up half-down style. There are many variations of the half-up half-down hairstyle, some with more hair up, as well as more hair down.

The element of your prom ensemble that is probably the most heavily reliant upon trends is makeup. Current trends recommend a focus on one key facial feature. Bold eyes are one trend where the eyes are the focal feature while keeping the face and lips neutral and simple. While the smokey eye continues to carry heavy influence in trends, another version of a classic bold eye is to do dark, bold lashes and a simple eye lid. More daring personalities might even prefer a bold color palette on their eyelids as another version of the bold eye. Another trend is to focus on the lip. A bold red lip is all-the-rage as well as classic and widely flattering on everyone. While the red can vary to pinks, or other shades, the rest of the face generally stays understated and neutral. One other focal feature is to have a strong eyebrow. The strong brow can be paired with a neutral lip, preferably with a gloss, and a eyes with bold lashes. It is always fun and exciting to get all-dolled up but it is important to let your natural beauty shine through!

Shoes are about as reliant upon your personality as they are your comfort level. With shoes, it can be easiest to take a cue from the dress. For example, if the dress is sexy, exotic, and has cutouts, it would be fitting to pair it with strappy sandals. If the dress is of a classic cut and color, it would be fitting to get a pump, either a peep-toe, close-toe, or a pump with a heel strap, or any combination of those options. High heels can be super sexy, and super painful. If you are not used to wearing high heels, it might be better to choose a shoe with a lower heel and with a lot of support at the heel and toes. Another step in accessorizing which takes a strong cue from the dress is jewelry. If the dress is heavily embellished then minimal jewelry is recommended. For a strapless sweetheart neckline dress, a drop necklace and simple earring works for an up-do. With no necklace, that same dress might call for long chandelier earrings with the hair either up or down. Bracelets and other assorted jewelry are based on personal preference. With accessories, you generally want to sparkle at every level of your body, take a cue from your dress, but remember: It's all about what you really want!

With spring just around the corner it's time to clear some room in your wardrobe for the latest Celebrity Style and Fashion Accessories! The most popular colour styles which have been hitting the catwalks in the last few months are Florals and Raspberries. Many designers have been showcasing eye catching tones of pinks and very floaty floral outfits.

The new Spring/Summer 2011 colours are those which are "uplifting", "soft”, “energising”, and “exciting."

Although these pastel shades are hitting our high streets and online shops, the latest craze currently seems to be Animal print, in particular leopard print which Kate Moss & Jessica Alba have recently been spotted wearing. With this in mind it seems showing your wild side is the current thing to do!

Jazzing up an outfit and having the latest fashion accessories doesn’t have to cost a fortune. There are plenty of online stores and high street shops where you can buy fashion garments and accessories at low prices. Costume Jewellery can play a major part in gaining the Celebrity look. By just adding a fashion bracelet or necklace to any outfit your whole look changes and looks more complete.

Celebrities such as Cheryl Cole & Katy Perry are big fans of jewellery, however not all of their collections are made of expensive metals and gems. Often Celebrities combine expensive jewellery with Costume Jewellery and accessories to complete their look.

The current trends in Fashion Jewellery and accessories seem to be chunky rings, extravagant floral brooches complemented with spring neck tie scarves.

Although everyone has their own unique identity & style, many still like to follow the latest celebrity and catwalk trends. One Collection which never seems to go out of fashion is the Diamante Range. From Wedding Jewellery to glitzy parties, this range certainly does turn heads and makes you look and feel a million dollars. Celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Cheryl Cole and Nicole Scherzinger just to name a few, are women who love to sparkle and dazzle those around them. These trends are copied around the world using Costume Jewellery as a more affordable alternative to designer jewellery. At www.yourfashionjewellery.com we have put a beautiful collection together which we feel will give you that Celebrity style!

Accessories to Create a Unique 'Black' Elegance

Accessories to Create a Unique 'Black' Elegance

By Leah Pisay

Who says dressing up in black can be boring, a drab, or even unsophisticated? There are a lot of great things that black clothing can do when you wear them properly. For instance, black can certainly flatter your figure and your look. Some people actually look slimmer in black while others look absolutely elegant in it. Black clothing can also be worn anytime of the day; that's unique in the realms of color. With a nice pair of shoes, some good and colorful accessories and the right attitude, your basic black can quickly become not so basic at all. Let's check out some of the ways to dress up in black.

For work, simple black clothing can easily be made into a more professional look by, for example, opting to wear a colorful shirt in shades such as yellow, green, red, or blues in a basic black suit. For ladies, a tote in fun shapes and sizes can easily achieve functionality and professionalism. Also try on fabulous shoes in metallic tones and wear bold jewelry such as rings, bold bangles or dangly earrings and your sure to spice up your ensemble! For men, try wearing colorful ties and uniquely printed ones for a sure fire hit wardrobe.

During daytime, a button down shirt paired with Capri style pants can be a good choice for women. Wear accessories in odd shapes and sophisticated colors for a more interesting look. A red coat can give added punch to your outfit. At night time, your little black dress can look glamorous with the right kind of pearls and dressy shoes that anyone would die for. Create a more dramatic look by putting on darker lipstick and shades that will bring out the beauty in your eyes.

When going formal, a long black gown can turn heads with the right hair style and jewelry. Keep them as simple as you can. For a more glamorous effect, you can put on a faux fur stole. For men, a black tux has that irresistible appeal especially on women. It gives a certain aura of mystery that most men would like to keep. The shoes play very important roles in dressing up. If in black, go for special ones with character. Women have Manolo Blahnik, Kate Spade or Guess as perfect examples of these. For men, Prada and Gucci are just perfect for their sophisticated look. For those with tight budgets, watch out for sales in designer stores. This way, you can look incredible without going broke.

Finally choose the right kind of jewelry. Try different pieces especially when in black. Pearls or necklaces with semi-precious stones best fit women. Men also have their own necklaces and bracelets, and the cufflinks. Cufflinks, especially engraved cufflinks, add a more elegant and classy look on men in black. Having engraved cufflinks certainly give a statement on the personality of the one wearing them. It's the best choice if one prefers individuality and personalization. These items might be small, but they certainly give a huge impact when dressing up. So, who says black is boring?

About the Author: Whether your interests are in silver, gold, artistic, sports, or other theme-related cufflinks we've got you covered. Cufflink Aficionado carries a broad range of mens cufflinks designed to meet each connoisseur's individual style and interest. Our selection of cuff links are sure to top off that perfect look.

CP - Must Have Accessory: TKO Slap Bracelets

Courtesy Post

Photobucket

Months ago I started seeing all of these news stories on something called “Silly Bandz.” These little things had taken over every elementary school like Pokemon cards back when I was a little one. Now you may be asking what Silly Bandz have to do with anything that could be posted on this blog, but let me explain further. Silly Bandz began to expand and now people are seeing older single people trying to use them as a way to attract potential mates at the bars.

Photobucket

I’ll go ahead and keep my thoughts on this phenomenon to myself, but this craze did inspire the creation of something else. The resurrection of slap bands! Julia Restoin Roitfeld was at a party in Russia about a year ago with slap bracelets and realized turning them into a watch would be the perfect wallet-friendly alternative to pieces on the runway. And a year later we have TKO Orlogi with neon slap bracelet watches on their website for $50. These are a super fun accessory and the bands and bezels are completely interchangeable to make them as funky as you want!
