Yes, Accessorize!

Yes, Accessorize!

By Tammy Ussery

You have found your dream prom dress, now what? Now it is time to coordinate what is arguably the most important step of your prom ensemble- The accessories! Fabulous prom dress shops that carry everything from the dresses and accessories to undergarment accessories are ideal for one-stop shopping. Accessorizing your perfect dress with hair, makeup, shoes and accessories is the last step, and arguably the most exciting one!

Let the fun begin! One of the most thrilling parts of putting together an ensemble is hair. One basic rule of matching hair to a dress is an up-do for halter and one-shoulder necklines and hair down for strapless and spaghetti strap. Up-do's are generally expected for dresses that include the neck in the design, like halter and one-shoulder necklines, simply because having the hair down can muddle the design and crowd the neck space. The right up-do for you and your dress can vary greatly. You might want a glamorous up-do with all of your hair up, a glamorized ponytail, or half-up half down. If you have a detailed or a revealing, open back, your might want to choose to have a complete up-do to put that on display. Two exceptions for this rule is if you have short hair or if you will wear your hair sleek, straight, and pulled straight down your back. All down hairstyles have been all-the-rage for the past few years. The beautiful famous celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry are all sporting fabulous long-do's. Pretty much any dress is deemed appropriate for wearing your hair styled down. The main deciding factor is personality. Girls with more of a classic, sophisticated, and or polished style and personality might prefer an standard up-do, while girls with more of a fun, trendy, and or free-spirited style and personality might prefer to wear the hair down. An ideal middle ground between an up-do and down style, is the half-up half-down style. There are many variations of the half-up half-down hairstyle, some with more hair up, as well as more hair down.

The element of your prom ensemble that is probably the most heavily reliant upon trends is makeup. Current trends recommend a focus on one key facial feature. Bold eyes are one trend where the eyes are the focal feature while keeping the face and lips neutral and simple. While the smokey eye continues to carry heavy influence in trends, another version of a classic bold eye is to do dark, bold lashes and a simple eye lid. More daring personalities might even prefer a bold color palette on their eyelids as another version of the bold eye. Another trend is to focus on the lip. A bold red lip is all-the-rage as well as classic and widely flattering on everyone. While the red can vary to pinks, or other shades, the rest of the face generally stays understated and neutral. One other focal feature is to have a strong eyebrow. The strong brow can be paired with a neutral lip, preferably with a gloss, and a eyes with bold lashes. It is always fun and exciting to get all-dolled up but it is important to let your natural beauty shine through!

Shoes are about as reliant upon your personality as they are your comfort level. With shoes, it can be easiest to take a cue from the dress. For example, if the dress is sexy, exotic, and has cutouts, it would be fitting to pair it with strappy sandals. If the dress is of a classic cut and color, it would be fitting to get a pump, either a peep-toe, close-toe, or a pump with a heel strap, or any combination of those options. High heels can be super sexy, and super painful. If you are not used to wearing high heels, it might be better to choose a shoe with a lower heel and with a lot of support at the heel and toes. Another step in accessorizing which takes a strong cue from the dress is jewelry. If the dress is heavily embellished then minimal jewelry is recommended. For a strapless sweetheart neckline dress, a drop necklace and simple earring works for an up-do. With no necklace, that same dress might call for long chandelier earrings with the hair either up or down. Bracelets and other assorted jewelry are based on personal preference. With accessories, you generally want to sparkle at every level of your body, take a cue from your dress, but remember: It's all about what you really want!

The Mystical Feeling of Having Red Pumps

The Mystical Feeling of Having Red Pumps

By Annette Whitely

Aside from diamonds, shoes are considered one of a girl's best friends. The fascination of shoes ranges from various types like the steel hell, wedge, peep toe, pumps and the like. The styles also vary from strappy sandals to close and corporate shoes. Womens attraction towards shoes is also an investment in terms of purchasing brands like Chanel, Prada, Christian Louboutin, YSL and many more. Shoes complete the whole get up.

Just like accessories they add style and glamor. The most commonly used and allured shoe type are red pumps. Aside from the seductive color, red color compliments the red carpet feeling when a woman wears it. It is undeniably that wearing red highlights the feeling of supremacy and elegance.

Red shoes are attractive and most of all can catch much attention. The vibrant and fiery color of the shoes shows off the confidence that is within the person that wears it. It is important that a woman is comfortable with the shoes she is wearing because everything else will follow. The significance of wearing red pumps symbolizes courage, spontaneity and confidence that without a doubt show off the innate strength of a woman.

Women with this kind of personality are outgoing and have a good taste in terms of choosing the right shoes for them. Because these kind of red shoes come in different styles, from patented to leather, from strappy to suede, it is important that a woman picks the right shoes for her. Like in the fairy tale, Cinderella's shoe won't fit to any maiden in the land. To decide the right shoe for you, it is important to consider the cost and your budget.

Many high heeled red pumps come in variety of choices. The selection is so wide that you can have a hard time choosing the best styles for you. What is important is that you consider the fit, the occasion and most of all the cost that will be incurred upon purchasing these 'must have' shoes. There are choices like designer red pumps,or, the epitome of the red high heeled pumps that usually come in corporate styles. There are good and best buy red pumps, especially online.

The choices differ from the kind you wanted and to how much you can afford to spend. It doesn't require you to buy the signature or the brand. All you need is a keen eye and good taste in terms of picking the right shoe. There are mass made shoes that look like the designer ones, and that may suit your budget. It doesn't matter if you wear Christian Dior or the vintage Prada or a locally made pump shoe, what is important is the satisfaction you achieve upon getting those shoes on your feet.

Looking for quality shoes. My website offers product reviews and great offers on a selection of the shoes, including Red Pumps and leopard pumps, some of the coolest on the planet

Why Do Designer Shoes Make Women Feel Sexy?

Why Do Designer Shoes Make Women Feel Sexy?

By Christopher Stigson

A lot of people might ask themselves why a pair of designer shoes makes women feel so much more sexy... Is it the shoes themselves or the feelings they get from having the confidence in knowing their shoes are hot? Either way, shoes do mean a lot to women and they spend a lot of money on getting nice shoes for themselves, at least if they care about it. As a man it's hard to understand this obsession with shoes, but it's nice to see a woman in a pair of nice high heels along with a nice dress or similar. It makes them sexy for some reason, I'll admit to that...

Many women have a fair amount of shoes and shoes for all occassions. It's one of the most important factors for deciding an outfit. Some women prefer to wear "sexy" high heels and others go with the more casual style... While some prefer the "cute" innocent look. The difference between a "regular" pair of shoes and designer shoes is significant. The more expensive the shoes, more often than not, the woman will feel more confident... Maybe the price tag adds to the idea of a more luxurious lifestyle...

It's interesting to note, how the look of the shoes rarely plays a role here, but if it's expensive and cute or sexy, they usually gain more attention. A boring sneaker will not get as much attention as a nice pair of designer heels on a night out.

The color of the shoes, and design of the shoe also attracts attention in various ways. Most women shouldn't go with too over the top shoes if they aren't comfortable to wear them. This is the opposite of sexy. If the shoe doesn't fit the overall style or overall image of the person, it messes up the purpose of them to begin with. The business woman should probably not get some really high attitude heels and the hippie might not look so good in a pair of designer shoes...

There is a fine line to walk, and many people get it spot on. These are just some common issues with women and looking sexy in shoes. Other's think they are not slim enough to wear really nice shoes, or they don't have the income to buy more expensive shoes, but if you have the money definitely treat yourself with a nice pair of designer shoes!

Top Women's Shoes for This Spring

Top Women's Shoes for This Spring

By Sophie Sop Wilson

When it comes to looking good, you need to make sure that you are keeping up with all of the latest fashion trends. The important thing to remember, however, is that in today's world there is no reason to think that you need to spend a fortune in order to keep up with the latest fashions. As a matter of fact, you can actually save money by knowing where to shop. The other thing that is important to remember is that in today's world, you shouldn't follow the fashion trends without thinking about it. Instead, you should use your creative side. In other words, don't be afraid to play around with the latest fashions to get your own look. In this article, you will get all of the information you need about finding the best women's shoes for this spring.

The first thing you will want to think about when it comes to women's shoes in the spring is the colours. In short, you can count on there being two main seasonal colours. During the colder months and fall months, you will want to stick to earthy and darker colours. You are going to want to think practically, which means that you will want to wear warm clothes that will not only be closed when it comes to shoes, but which will also be insulated. Spring is all about the being outside and adjusting to the warmer weather. This means you will want whites, pastels, and other light colours. Also don't be afraid of open toe shoes and sandals.

One question that most women have when it's time to buy shoes for the spring has to do with getting the best deals. In other words, these women want to look good and they want to be in style, but at the same time they do not want to end up with overpriced pieces that will not last longer than the season. This is a definite problem, especially in today's tough economy. Your best bet will be to find a website that offers hot fashions at the right price.

If you are interested in finding the best women's shoes for spring, you are going to want to be sure to find a website that sells the best brands for the most reasonable prices. You will also want to be sure that you like what you see and that there is a reasonable return policy, since sizes for footwear vary so much.

Fashion Guide to Ladies Shoes

Fashion Guide to Ladies Shoes

Author: bobdaughty
Fashion Guide to Ladies Shoes

It’s also all about finding the right fit, which means finding the style of boot that you love, with a fit that your feet and calves will love too. Ladies shoes that fall into the “just right” category are those that are the perfect marriage of looks, comfort and fit.

There is no type of footwear as versatile as ladies’ shoes. Smart or casual, sexy or practical… knee-high, mid-calf or ankle… leather, nubuck, patent or suede - a great pair of shoes can transform a favourite or workaday outfit into something a bit special. Depending on your mood, you can use your shoes to dress up or down. If you’re feeling sassy and confident, choose that patent pair with the sexy, spiky heels and team with a floor skimming pair of smart jeans or a denim mini. Or if you’ve got that easy like Sunday morning feeling, pair a little floral dress, cardigan and opaque tights with a pair of slouchy brown mid calf suede flats. Whether it’s shoes for a special occasion or everyday wear that you want, there’s a pair out there for you.

Knee high shoes are a classic wardrobe staple that no Ladies can afford to be without. They are available in an extensive range of shapes, colours, materials and styles. Whether you want a practical pair of luxurious fleece lined flat nubuck shoes, or a black leather pair with heels to lengthen and flatter your legs, there are so many to choose from. Mid-calf shoes offer a great alternative if you want a slightly shorter but equally versatile style of boot. They look gorgeous with short or knee high skirts or over an everyday pair of skinny jeans. Opt for ankle shoes to make a pair of boot cut trousers into a Amora Ladies Shoesmart outfit to take you from work into evening. Your choice of heel changes the look of an outfit too - opt for high heels for a glamorous look for a night on the town or a special occasion, low or mid-height for a smart office look or lunch with friends, or flats lined with leather for a comfortable mooch round the shops. Shoes look great with up to the minute high fashion or classic styles. It’s up to you.

Finding the right fit is an essential part of every self-respecting boot lover’s search. Many high street shoes may look great - until you try them on. They may be the right shoe size for you, but the overall fit on your calves is just as important. High street shoes are made to standard measurements - but real Ladies are made to their own unique size!

A pair of ill-fitting shoes will ruin an outfit, spoiling the line of your legs and making for an uncomfortable day’s wear. But a well-fitting ladies boot will flatter your shape, elongating your legs and creating a beautiful look, which means that you can step out with confidence. It is a good idea to find a specialist manufacturer or supplier of Ladies shoes that come in a wide range of calf sizes, so that you can find the style you want in a fit that’s right for you. Length is also an important consideration - a knee-high boot may be too long and uncomfortable for a petite lady, or too short for the Amazons among us. Specialist ladies boot suppliers have a range of lengths and calf fits for every Ladies, to ensure that the investment you are making in your new shoes is one that will pay off for a long time to come.

vacation is over.

Tomorrow school will begin again, the vacation has gone so fast! I am now in my final year and that means I will be blogging less, I'm in a hockeyteam so I need to train once a week and, one game in the weekend. Also I'm (finally) going on sewing lessons. Ofcourse I will post all my handmade things.
I will report how my day was tomorrow at school!
Liefs

Furber?

Here a article of the fabolous blog Style Bubble. I'm following her nog for a while and i saw this post of her what made me make this post. Hope you enjoy, for more information look on Style Bubble!
---
I seem to be constantly reminded of my fashion sinning in more ways than one at the moment, so much so that writing a post about it is increasingly precarious, as I reconsider my stance on things. One area that again, I have sinned to the point of ignorance is eco-fashion - that umbrella term that could mean anything from sustainable production to organic materials. I have tried to understand. I have tried to get enthusiastic. Sadly the problem, similar to charity-propelled products, is that the final results of eco-fashion are just not aesthetically challenging enough. I keep recalling Pia Stanchina as a label that actually shook my eyes into eco-mode but that was two years ago. Nothing since has really touched that sort of awe-factor. Hanging brown paper tags on products to mark them out as 'green', 'organic' and 'sustainable' is just a lazy trump card to keep playing if the clothes feel like they have been put into the constraints of 'green' design.
I'm therefore pleased that I have killed two birds with one convenient stone by finding a designer who a) easily gets graduate footwear designer of this year (last year was the fearless Chau Har Lee) and b) also has impressed me with her will to combine forward-thinking production means with sustainability in materials as well as a mind-blowing aesthetic. I finally saw 2010 Cordwainers Footwear design graduate Helen Furber's shoes in person (who you may have seen via I Don't Eat Bread) today at Carnaby Street and complete with a thorough reading of her detailed design blog (is it not f**cking fantastic that more and more designers and design students put effort into their blogs to document their progress?) as well as seeing her portfolio, I'm now ready to fly the Furber flag for Name Most Likely To Go It Alone With Her Own Brand. That's a very long title there. Not a bad one though if it can be achieved, eh?

the story continous on http://stylebubble.typepad.com/

Focus of the month.

Focus on one item, the history of it, the meaning, looks, famous people wearing it, why people wear it, and much more!
This month, the shoe.

Everyone wears it, shoes. In every size, in any form, whether you choose for high heels or crocs. It's a way of life, i can't imagen without. Maybe i am making a big deal of it, but what would you do if there are no shoes left? If you need to walk on bare feet, imagen the world without shoes. That would be strange wouldn't?

Well if we wan't to know more about the shoe, lets go back in time. To the history.
The earliest known shoes date from about 8000 to 7000 BCE and were foun in Oregon, USA in 1938.
The earliest designs were simple affairs, often mere "foot bags" of leather to protect the feet from rocks, debris, and cold.
By the Middle Ages, turn-shoes had been developed with toggled flaps or drawstrings to tighten the leather around the foot for a better fit. As Europe gained in wealth and power, fancy shoes became status symbols. Toes became long and pointed, often to ridiculous proportions. Artisans created unique footwear for rich patrons, and new styles developed. Eventually the modern shoe, with a sewn-on sole, was devised. Since the 17th century, most leather shoes have used a sewn-on sole.
Until around 1800, shoes were made without differentiation for the left or right foot. We now call such shoes, "straights".
Since the mid-20th Century, the other fabrics came like: rubber, plastics, synthetic cloth, and industrial adhesives wich helped to allowed manufacturers to create shoes that stray considerably from traditional crafting techniques.

Types of womenshoes.

There is a large variety of shoes available for women. Some categories are:
High-heeled footwear may be shoes with heels 2 inches (5 cm) or higher. They are often seen as having more sex appeal than low heels.
Kitten heels are low high heels from about 1.5 to 2 inches high, set in from the back of the shoe.
Wedge Sandals are sandals but have the ankles higher as if wearing a high heels shoe.
Slingbacks are shoes which are secured by a strap behind the heel, rather than over the top of the foot.

Some shoedesingers.
Christian Louboutin (born 1964).
He is a footwear designer who launched his line of high-end women's shoes in France in 1991. Since 1992, his designs have incorporated the shiny, red-lacquered soles that have become his signature. His designs are very popular because he designs extraordinary shoes, but also shoes that are really classic.

Jimmy Choo
Choo was born in Penang, Malaysia into a family of shoemakers. He made his first shoe when he was 11 years old. He is perhaps the most notable of students of Cordwainers Technical College in London Borough of Hackney, London from which he graduated in 1983. He worked part-time at restaurants and as a cleaner at a shoe factory to help fund his college education.

Manolo Blahnik (born 1942).

Born to a Czech father and a Spanish mother and born and raised in the Canary Islands (Spain), Blahnik graduated from the University of Geneva in 1965 and studied art in Paris. He moved to London in 1968 to work at fashion boutique "Zapata" and write for Vogue Italia. After showing his portfolio of fashions and set designs to Diana Vreeland, she told him that he should design only footwear. In 1972, Ossie Clark invited him to create shoes for his runway show.
Manolo Blahnik's flagship store remains to date in Old Church Street, Chelsea London.
Blahnik was awarded the honorary title of Commander of the British Empire in 2007 for his service to the British fashion industry.
