Is Lindsay Lohan a jewelry thief?

Lindsay Lohan recently wore $400,000 worth of Dior jewels at an Elle photo shoot, and this same set of earrings and necklace were reported missing just a few days later. The jewelry was on loan for the shoot. Lohan did the photo shoot on June 6 and on June 8 the jewels were discovered to be missing from the studio. Police are currently investigating the theift. Lohan's rep said, "We inquired and everyone from the shoot is being questioned. Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. She is happy to cooperate."

Will Lindsay be questoned by police? "Inquiries are continuing and no arrests have been made. As far as who we will be interviewing -- we will be speaking to a number of people in connection with the inquiry and don’t discuss the identity of the people we are planning to interview," a police spokesperson said. And what does Elle think of Lindsay? "Elle has no reason to believe that Lindsay Lohan was in any way responsible and has no further comment to make," an Elle spokeswoman said.

Tying Too Hard?

Jessica Simpson appears on the cover of the September issue of Elle magazine and opens up about her rollercoaster of a love life. It hits news stands on August 11th. She's wearing her proper country gear - a plaid shirt, she's really pushing for this country transition, huh?

On the period immediately following her 2005 split from ex-husband Nick Lachey: “I was going through a lot of pain. I didn’t try anything to change my life other than dating different types of guys and conforming to their worlds. I thought I had to be artsier, more intellectual.”

On her ex-beau, musician John Mayer: “John believed in the Jessica Simpson that’s within. He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else.”

On her relationship with Tony Romo: “Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart, but they had different ways of trying to get to me. Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He’s the first person I’ve spiritually connected with. It’s the cutest thing, he’ll say, Jessica, 75% of the comments about your new single are favorable.”

Nina Garcia stays with Elle

Nina Garcia very publicly split with Elle magazine, and just last week there were reports that the Project Runway judge would make the move to Marie Claire.

But Garcia, the former fashion director of Elle, will be an editor-at-large with the fashion magazine until Sept. 1, Roberta Myers, Elle's editor-in-chief confirmed today.

There is speculation that the deal is in place so that Elle can continue its involvement with Project Runway. Garcia's job at Marie Claire will go into effect Sept. 2.

Nina Garcia leaves Elle

'Project Runway' judge Nina Garcia reportedly parted ways with Elle magazine where she worked as the fashion director since 2000.

Neither Garcia nor the magazine have commented, although conflicting reports have stated that Garcia was fired.

The news comes just days after the production company for 'Project Runway' announced the show was changing stations from Bravo TV to Lifetime.

Bravo and NBC Universal filed a breach of contract with Harvey and Bob Weinstein and their namesake company, which sold the series to Bravo in 2003. NBC Universal claimed they had rights to future seasons and claimed Weinstein Co. sealed a deal with Lifetime before allowing Bravo the chance to make a matching offer.

"NBC Universal regrettably had no alternative but to bring legal action to enforce its rights to this program," the corporation said in a 13-page lawsuit. They called Weinstein Co.'s five-year deal with Lifetime an "invalid agreement."

Weinstein Co. and Lifetime, meanwhile, also issued a statement declaring that NBC Universal "declin[ed] to compete for the right to have 'Project Runway.'"

"We believe this lawsuit is without merit," said David Boies, an attorney for the Weinstein Co., in a statement.

According to a Lifetime spokesperson, Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn are on board, but Nina Garcia and fellow judge Michael Kors have yet to sign contracts. In the Lifetime press release, Klum was quoted as saying "fashion is about change," and Gunn added "Lifetime and I will definitely 'make it work' together."
