Ashley Dupree Releases Song And It's Good!

Name ring a bell? Sadly most of us only know her as the call girl involved in bringing down Governor Spitzer of NY. His fall was hard but he got work after losing his job. Ashley has had a tougher time. Book deals canceled because she wouldn't write a 'tell all' and worse. She's not a hypocrite. She was. Now she's paid the price for her art. The good news is she will have a reality show on Bravo, but her greater desire is as an artist. This is a young woman that made bad decisions and sucked it up and turned away bad money for self-respect. How ironic eh?

There are many aspiring performers and artists. Ashley was one of them before she took on her secret second job. Her talent has been obscured by the scandal. The world media especially gossip leeches had a field day focusing on her other life as if that was her life.

You can review a snippet of the song with the Imeem player below. Decide for yourself if her song is something you'd add to your own play list. I will say this, as a former musician and lyricist, this ballad has some legs due to the story it tells.

You can guess it's an autobiographical piece on redemption and acceptance. The question I have is where does she go from here? You can only write this song once. It's more of a lounge song or guilty pleasure but it is a heartfelt honest tune with appeal.

Ashley Dupré developing reality show

Ashley Dupré is developing a cable reality series, E! News reported. The former call girl gained fame through her involvement in the Eliot Spitzer scandal.

An unnamed source told E! that the 23-year-old has been developing a show with Los Angeles-based Handprint Entertainment, which has managed reality stars Nicole Richie and Pamela Anderson.

The source said that the series may be a dating show.

"They're talking to MTV about Ashley being the next Tila Tequila," a source close to the project told E!

A representative for Dupré said that she did not have a TV deal, but declined to comment on whether she is developing a series. Executives at Handprint Entertainment could not be reached for comment, and MTV declined to comment on the story.

Dupré was recently in the news for filing a lawsuit against Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis for unjust enrichment and other offenses. Francis had publicly declared that he had, and wished to use, the footage of Dupré's 18th birthday party so that people could "learn the real truth about Ashley Dupré."

Dupré, whose complaint claimed she was drunk when she signed a release for Francis, abandoned the lawsuit last week.

"She has prospects for many exciting new projects and is looking forward to starting a new chapter," Richard C. Wolfe, Dupré's attorney, said in a statement Thursday.

Ashley Dupre Breaks Her Silence After Call Girl Scandal

Ashley Dupré, the call girl at the center of former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s downfall, is breaking her silence three months after the scandal erupted.

In a posting on her MySpace blog this weekend, the 23-year-old embraced her supporters and critics alike.

“Hey everyone...Let me just start by saying THANK YOU ALL, for your support!!” Dupré wrote in a posting Saturday, June 21.

“Again, thank you all so much for taking the time to send me a bit of strength and inspiration via email or comment, your words have touched me and I thank you for that...with all my heart, I love you guys!!! ...and to all the not so kind words...I love you too, because it makes me push myself and want it even more. Hard times don’t last...only strong people.”

In the wake of her prostitution scandal, Dupré has kept a low profile.

In April, she filed a $10 million lawsuit against Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis, claiming he got her drunk and “induced” her into taking topless pictures in Miami, Fla., when she was only 17.

After Dupré was exposed as Spitzer’s call girl, Francis released a racy video of her he already had in his archives.
