Is the Jersey Shore Cast Out of Control?

The cast members of 'Jersey Shore' are milking their new found fame for all it's worth! For starters, the cast negotiated a salary of $10,000 per episode next season - double what MTV had originally offered them. Now some cast members are making up to $7,500 a night for personal appearances, and you better believe they are making as many of these appearances as they can.

According to the New York Post, MTV is not happy about this. They have ordered the cast, including "Snooki", "The Situation", "Pauly D" and "JWoww" to slow down on the appearances at bars and clubs or face legal action. MTV fears it will hurt their image if the cast continues to "pimp themselves" across the country.

But of course, certain cast members refuse to listen to these rules. The cast just wants to earn as much money as they can. Some cast members are taking it even further, using their new fame to really bring in the big bucks.

"Pauly D" isn't just trying to land personal appearances for $7,500 a night, he plans to start DJing for a rate between $10,000 - $25,000 a gig!

"The Situation" is launching his own cologne named "The Sitch". Doesn't it usually take celebrities years before launching their own fragrance? If this seems a little crazy to you, you're not alone. The 'Jersey Shore' casts' manager gloats, "This is something like America hasn't seen before as far as reality TV goes". No kidding!

Jersey Shore Cast Demands More Money!

MTV’s Jersey Shore had a huge first season, bringing in 4.8 million viewers in its season finale. Now the cast, including The Situation, Pauly D, Snooki and others, are demanding more money for season 2.

MTV reportedly offered each cast member a $10,000 signing bonus, and $5,000 per episode. The Jersey Shore cast rejected this offer, claiming they would negotiate until they received a much higher offer. MTV then doubled the salary to $10,000 per episode. The cast members still have not accepted this offer.

Pauly D and The Situation are reportedly being the most stubborn with the negotiation. This isn't hard to believe about The Situation who said in episode 2, "Everybody at the Shore definitely knows The Situation. As far as I know, everybody loves The Situation, and if you don't love The Situation, I'm gonna make you love The Situation."

According to TMZ, MTV said they have not made any decisions to bring back the cast, and has received thousands of tapes from hopeful “Guido and Guidettes”. MTV told the cast they are not a package deal, so Snooki, The Situation or whoever won’t negotiate can see the door. With thousands of other interested “Situations” and “Snookies” out there, MTV doesn’t seem to be budging on their offer. The Jersey Shore cast has until the end of today to accept the offer.

Nicole "Snooki" Pretruzzi Talks about Eating Disorder

Nicole “Snooki” Pretruzzi is best known for her roles on MTV’s hit shows “Jersey Shore” and “Is She Really Going Out with Him”

Snooki opens up about her struggles with her weight that started in high school. She would only eat once a day and she would eat less as time went on. “In high school”, Snooki tells US Magazine, “I really wouldn’t eat. I would only have lunch, and I would only have salads. It got so crazy that I would only eat a cracker or a cucumber a day and I would feel full”.

School staff notified Snooki’s parents about her eating behavior, and her family supported her through a healthy recovery. Under her family’s watchful eye, Snooki made a full recovery, going from 80 pounds, to her goal weight, 98.

On “The Jersey Shore”, Snooki’s weight has been called on numerous accounts. Housemate Mike, “The Situation”, has joked about Snooki’s weight. Snooki’s weight was also the cause of a drunken cat fight between another housemate nicknamed JWOW and another woman at a bar.

Mike apologized to Snooki for his comments about her weight. "I regret saying it because I have a sister and a mother, but at the same time, everything happened so quickly and that is what happened”.

Snooki tells DigitalSpy.com that she has since put her disorder behind her. “Right now I don't care what people think of me. They will say negative stuff and whatever, I'm happy with myself”.

Kanye West Makes Fool of Himself at MTV Video Music Awards

What can be worse than award show that gives awards for videos with no real standard of merits? Making a fool of yourself on a show that gives those awards. That is what Kanye West did Sunday September 13th 2009. It's a day and night he should long remember, consider it the day his career started to take downward spiral.

Although he may blame it (He say's he had a "little sippy sippy") on being drunk from drinking of all things 'cognac', Kanye's true colors of blasting anything he doesn't like (let alone agree with) shown themselves for the umpteenth time. What could Kanye West possible do to offend anyone? He ran on stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video (You Belong With Me) took the microphone from her and began to insult her by way of announcing in his street talk "Yo Taylor. I'm really happy for you, I'm going to let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!"

Taylor stood there mortified and unable to finish her acceptance speech. West in his drunken state didn't seem to care as he drew boos. He shrugged and walked his hip-hop walk off stage. Once seated he flipped the audience the bird.

With the damage done, no one seemed to notice or care that West was ejected from the show by security. How did Kanye react to that? He said he was going to have another "sippy sippy" before the night was done.

Luckily later in the show when Beyonce won her own award for Best Video of the Year (Put a Ring On It) she showed exceptional class calling Taylor to the stage offering her time to finish what earlier she could not. But despite that, Taylor Swift's emotions got the best of her. Both her and her mother were seen back stage crying from the experience.

The reaction last night was heavy. Pink was so outraged that she had to be restrained by security from West before he was asked to leave.

The reaction on the morning after is swift. In this blogging age of celebrities West has issued a lame apology that proves he still doesn't get it, "I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment. Beyonce's video was the best of the decade ..." Kanye's continued ranting over Beyonce in the midst of a lame apology seems to take away from any excuse he could have used that he was drunk.

With or without Kanye's apology he has been greeted by bloggers everywhere with heavy handed backlash. Kelly Clarkson a fellow celebrity has even issued a statement on her own blog condemning West while offering a consoling praise to Taylor Swift:

Dear Kanye,

What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like shit. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??

I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her…so why can’t you be?? I’m not even mad at you for being an asshole…I just pity you because you’re a sad human being.

On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!!

Taylor Swift, you outsell him ….that’s why he’s bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl!

KC
The celebrity backlash continues:
Jordan Sparks: "Um I heard what ye did to my girl Taylorswift13. What happened t2 being happy 4 other people? Congrats Taylor! You deserve it and we love you!"
Kat Dennings: "I'm throwing away my Kanye Glasses. They were eight bucks, no skin off my apple."
Dane Cook: "Kanye did something incredible tonight. He made me like country music. Kanye is now a Kanyunt"
Mike Kennerty (All American Rejects): "Kanye West is a f---ing a---hole"
Katy Perry: "F--- you Kanye. It's like you stepped on a kitten."
Pink: "Kanye West is the biggist piece of s--- on earth. Quote me. My heart goes out to Taylor Swift. She is Sweet and talented girl and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her."
The list goes on and on. From Kellyr Rowland, Dallas Austin Joel Madden, Heidi Montag and more. There is a lot of piling on Kanye and a lot of support being shown to Taylor.

Drama at the MTV Movie Awards!

While I am sure all of the Twilight fans are going wild over the film's (and Rob Pattinsons') big wins at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards last night, there was also a bit of drama that occurred during the broadcast that has everyone buzzing. Bruno, a.k.a Sasha Baron Cohen's entrance created quite a stir!

He flew in from the rafters above the crowd dressed as a naked angel! His behind was completely exposed! Then, let's just say he got to know rapper Eminem a bit more personally when his naked bum was lowered directly onto Eminem's face! It is debatable as to whether or not Em was in on the joke, but for the looks of things he appears to be genuinely angered and disgusted. After he and members of his entourage shoved Cohen out of the way, Em proceeded to stalk out of the awards hall with members of his posse in tow. (After the incident, Bruno announces that Zac Effron has won the award without listing what is was for, or the other contenders...the confusion on Zac's face was classic! )

Eminem doesn't seem to have much luck at MTV Awards shows, if you recall the rapper had a violent run-in with Triumph The Insult Comic Dog, and threatened physical harm to Moby back at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. If he wasn't in on the joke, then I say, leave Eminem alone, seriously the man has been out of the spotlight for the past four years, why mess with him now...aren't the antics getting a little old? On the other hand, if he was in on the joke, then he is definitely turning into quite the fine actor....see the clip below and let us know what you think: Scripted? or MTV gone too far?

MTV Brings The Trials And Tribulations Of Steve-O To Life In "Steve-O: Demise And Rise"!

MTV continues to experiment and break the mold in documentary filmmaking with the release of “Steve-O: Demise and Rise,” a self-documented look inside the mind of a man struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. This explosive special gives a raw, intimate first-hand account of Steve-O’s downward spiral to when he ultimately hits rock bottom and is saved by the intervention of friends and his own will to do whatever it takes to get – and stay – sober. “Steve-O: Demise and Rise” airs on Sunday, May 3rd at 10pm ET/PT.

“Addiction is a brain disease that kills. Steve suffered from the profound consequences of long-standing polydrug addiction. The disease brought him to the edge of sanity and one night nearly took his life,” said Dr. Drew Pinsky. “His recovery has been an inspiring but gut-wrenching process. Steve remains an inspiration to all. Those that have come to know him through this process love him.”

"This documentary captures the most frightening moments of my friend at the apex of his addiction. I know because I was there,” said Johnny Knoxville. “More importantly though it offers hope, and documents the tremendous amount of courage and hard work on Steve-O's behalf to turn that hope into a healthy person."

Steve-O, a self-professed ham in front of the video camera, never leaves home without it. Since his early teens, Steve-O has captured moments of his life on tape, including everything from his days as an amateur stuntman and flea-market clown to his rise to fame as popular member of “Jackass” and “Wildboyz.” Consequently, the darkest hours of Steve-O’s life are also captured. Viewers will see moments of extreme substance abuse, including the marathon nitrous oxide sessions, terrorizing his next door neighbor, his ill-fated attempt at being a gangsta-rapper and several infamous public displays of self-destructive behavior. All of Steve-O’s antics lead to his friends stepping in, turning off the camera and forcibly admitting him to the medical center where he was forced to begin the process of learning to live sober.

Since his intervention, it hasn’t been without hurdles that Steve-O has tried to stay clean, sober and focused on making amends to those closest to him hurt by his addiction -- his family and friends. Steve-O’s journey has taken him through highs and lows, and this documentary follows them all, right up until his first performance this year on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” Now faced with the daily challenge of living a clean life while still being the Steve-O that everyone loves, he wants it to be known that he is not the poster child for drug addiction or recovery but wants to show how truly difficult it is to stay sober every day.

'The City's' Olivia Palermo

Evil takes a new form in The City's co-star Olivia Palermo. The NYC socialite is a co-worker of Whitney Port's on the MTV reality show and we think she's just awful! Poor, Whitney! She has been seen bullying Port in and out of the office with her harsh criticism of Port's friends and boyfriend, Jay Lyon.

"I've gotten so much more comfortable being in front of the cameras over the course of shooting this season. The first few days were a little bit awkward," Palermo has revealed in a recent interview. I bet it was hard, girl. You had to actually pretend to be nice in the first few episodes. She's so scary, isn't she? Someone please agree with me, and if you don't, please comment! We want to hear what you think about this new reality star!

'The City' can been seen on MTV on Monday nights at 10pm (EST.) Learn more about the wrath of Olivia Palermo! Eek!

The Good News and The Bad News

First, the good news: no one cares about The Hills anymore.

*does happy dance*

Variety reports that original episodes have tumbled 26% in the coveted 12-34 y.o. viewer demographic in the fourth quarter, compared with the same period last year.

Buh-bye Speidi and your fake marriage -- and your fake EVERYTHING, actually. (On a side note, it aggravates me to no end that these two fame-seeking, attention-hungry, vapid, otherwise-worthless morons can fake an entire marriage ceremony and be afforded more rights than a gay/lesbian couple who've been together for years and genuinely love each other...)

Now the bad news.

In the same article, Variety informs us that MTV is working on a bunch of new reality shows.

SIXTEEN new reality shows, to be exact!

*bangs head against wall*

Britney Spears Documentary!

Britney Spears is planning on Setting The Record Straight In Documentary Airing November 30 On MTV --- the preview video is below check it out! The 90-minute special, "Britney: For The Record," was executive-produced by Spears' manager Larry Rudolph. It features behind-the-scenes footage of the singer and her talking about her life over the past two years.

She's got a lot to talk about: In that time span, she has gotten divorced, been through a custody battle, gone to rehab, had very public meltdowns and had one memorably bad performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

TRL Out

After ten years on MTV, Total Request Live is going off the air. The long running countdown show was MTV's only attempt at having music videos still on M(usic)TV.

The show will say its goodbyes during a two hour special in November. Since faces like Britney Spears, N Sync, and Backstreet Boys were such a huge part of TRL's prime time in the 90s, the shows execs would love to see them back to send the show out.

Though the show is still doing relatively well, executive producer Dave Sirulnick tells USA Today that "This feels like the right time and let's celebrate it and let's reward it. And let's let it have a little bit of a rest for a minute."

MTV's, FNMTV, which is hosted by Pete Wentz, hopes to jump in as a replacment of sorts. The show had a 15-episode run this summer and now will return in November.

Every Season to be Hills Last

Entertainment Weekly will give us an in depth look at TV's most scripted (and fantastic) reality show in an upcoming EW article They Shoot, Lauren Scores. But when will the show call it quits? Lauren Conrad says that every season she thinks it's the last, but creator Adam DiVello says he would love to see the show go til LC marries.

We can imagine having your life taped can be pretty exhausting. Lauren says "there are times when I’ve been filming where I wake up in the middle of the night and I think I’m being filmed" -- notice EW cover.

The article gives readers a taste of what it's like while filming on scene and at home with the girls.

Oh and just for fun, Heidi and Spencer refused to comment for the article after hearing that Lauren was on the cover. No wonder everyone hates them.

Kanye Redeems Himself..

Rap superstar Kanye West and MTV VJ Sway Calloway recently gave three young vets who just returned from the Iraq war the surprise of their lives!

Kanye and Sway dropped in at the homes of the vets to listen to the soldiers' stories and express gratitude for their service. The pair gave each veteran money to pay off debts or tuition bills. MTV was there to capture the visits on camera. The special airs on MTV, July 28th.

Kanye said, "There are hundreds of veterans out there who are falling through the cracks. They make the ultimate sacrifices for us by laying down their lives, but it seems like a lot of them just get forgotten about. I know my music inspires and helps a lot of people, but you can always do more. I teamed up with MTV and took the opportunity to share the spotlight with these veterans and hear their stories. I went to their homes to listen and get their firsthand experiences. I wanted to hear their stories."

Kanye should absolutely be doing more work like this instead of bitching and moaning through his infamous blog. I think this is awesome what he's doing!
