Travel - The Best Short Break Destinations This Autumn

The Best Short Break Destinations This Autumn

Author: LauraSamuels

Autumn is a great time of year to have a short break, the country side is a wash with red and yellow as the leaves turn and start to fall. Think carefully about the type of short break you are after as the weather can be starting to get rather cold.

Scotland is an amazing part of the UK and there is so much to see and do it will suit most people looking for a short break this autumn. Edinburgh and Glasgow are great for city breaks, or perhaps if you are after something a little quietter you can head to the highlands and rent a cottage. There are many golf courses for a relaxing break and also spa's for those wishing to be pampered.

The perfect way to recharge your batteries is a short break in the country and what better countryside than Wales. The Snowdonia region in Wales is stunning, with spectacular mountains and beautiful coastlines. There are also amazing attractions such as castles to check out so plenty to do, especially if you're bringing children with you.

The Isle Of Wight is a great place to spend a short break. There are 60 miles of unspoilt scenery and a wealth of attractions, meaning it is perfect for everyone. If you're feeling adventurous you can hire a bike and cycle around to check out the attractions. The Isle of Wight is easy to get to with regular ferries from Southampton and Portsmouth. There are campsites and plenty of B&B's or cottages to hire.

If you're after a short break in the sunshine, escaping the cool, grey temperatures of the UK, a relaxing break on the Mediterranean. Malta boasts hot temperatures for the most part of the year and is rich in culture and history. There are an abundance of beautiful natural attractions such as the blue lagoon and the steep white cliffs of the coastline.

To make your pounds stretch a little further and still enjoy a short break abroad, Riga is an excellent city to visit. The old town is a wonderful place to people watch and get caught up in the amazing Art Noveau style architecture. A rich history with many educational museums to teach visitors of the soviet occupation and hardships that gripped the country. Riga is a vibrant, modern, fast-evolving city with lots to offer.

If prefer to stay in the UK, which is a fantastic option for Autumn months, Center Parcs have four forest villages across England, each set in 400 acres of beautiful forest with first class facilities including stylish accommodation, restaurants, spas and an abundance of activities for the whole family.

The Waterfalls in Spain

Author: Carl Ton

A spectacle of life

Spain is one of the most amazing countries in the world. It has a lot to offer, starting with the impressive architectural and cultural heritage and ending with the breathtaking landscapes. The relief in Spain is special: both the sea and the mountains can be found together, in a unique place where people can go skiing in the morning and bathe in the sea in the afternoon. But the most amazing spectacle offered by nature is the abundance of waterfalls that can be found in the most unexpected places. Thousands of people come annually to Spain just for the waterfalls. If you are in search of a holiday idea, you've got yourself one! The waterfalls in Spain are something worth seeing at least once in a lifetime.

Some of the most famous waterfalls in Spain

If you decide to go to Spain for its waterfalls, make sure that El Pozo de los Humos is on your list. It is found in the province of Salamanca, in the Arribes Del Duero Nature Reserve. The access to the waterfall is through Perena; a small, but welcoming village. There is one disadvantage: the road to the waterfall can be dangerous, as it is rocky and slippery, but you can hire someone from the village to help you get safely to the waterfall. The Salto Del Nervion is another wonderful waterfall. It is situated between two of the most beautiful provinces in Spain: Alava and Burgos. It is one of the waterfalls visited by those who enjoy going on little trips to experience nature at its best; this is because of the 3.5 kilometers track to the waterfall. It sounds tiring, but once you get there, you'll see how the water seems not to hit the ground; it seems like it disintegrates into vapors that rise back up to the top, just to come down one more time. In Ordesa National Park, the Cola de Caballo (horse's tail) i
s waiting for you. The track can only be followed by foot; it takes about three hours to get to the place where you will be the viewer of an amazing spectacle: its bottom.

Accommodation

When visiting waterfalls, you will be moving from place to place, so the best idea would be to rent villas. Villas are always situated in the villages that provide the best access to the waterfalls. The special thing about villas is that they offer accommodation conditions similar to those in hotels. In addition to that, you will be able to feel the spirit of the locals―their traditions and their culture.

Destinations - Honolulu Travel Guide

Honolulu Travel Guide

Honolulu is the largest city in the state of Hawaii. Far away from the mainland US, its culture, norms, traditions and way of life are totally different from what you would observe in the mainland of USA. Contrary to the popular belief, Honolulu is not a respite from busy life in metropolitan cities, but it still has the feeling of the laid-back island atmosphere.

Accessing Honolulu

Honolulu International Airport is a very convenient option of accessing this city. Cruise ship is another reasonable alternative that you can make use of, to reach this city of mesmerizing ambience. If you want to drive to get around this city then ensure that you have a very good map of Honolulu, otherwise it may get a little too confusing. If you do not want to drive yourself then bus service and taxi are also good choices you can easily opt for. Traffic is a major issue in Honolulu, so I wouldnt really encourage you to drive until and unless you have a passion to drive in such conditions.

Beaches

Waikiki beach is one of the most popular beaches visitors think of, when planning a trip to Honolulu. White sand beach and clear blue water is the major reason behind it. This beach is popular with almost all kinds of tourists whether sunbathers, catamaran, swimmers, surfers, boarders and just anyone who loves water sports. This place is packed with people because of whom it often gets overcrowded. But, even if your preference is quiet beaches, look no further than Honolulu, it also offers tranquil beaches like Hanauma bay.

Scenic Beauty

Diamond Head is one of the most popular places in Honolulu which has an international reputation for its scenic beauty. Advantageously, the top area also gives a panoramic view of the whole city and it looks simply awe-inspiring, like as if you have come to a new world of beautiful scenery. Nu'uana Pali Lookout gives the perfect picturesque and extensive view of this whole city. Despite the harsh winds, if you would view this scenery, then you would forget everything else.

Climate

In simple and plain words, Honolulu has a very average climate which doesnt change much throughout the year. The only significant change you would observe is perhaps rain. For the most parts, its mostly sunny but if you are near the hilly areas you would observe passing clouds or maybe a little scarce rain too. The western region is more often than not, sunny but the eastern or northern region are known to have clouds and rains consequently.

Food

There are a number local restaurants i.e. chains of regional zippy which are very famous with the locals and visitors alike. Their trademark dish is a unique kind of chili dish which is available in a variety of specialties making it all the more delicious and unique.

Accommodation

Most of the accommodations available for tourists in Honolulu are available near Waikiki. The peak season of Honolulu is generally between mid December to March and June to September. In other seasons, you can easily get the best bargains and cheapest deals as far as accommodation is concerned.

Not sure what could be an excellent location to spend your vacations?
Honolulu travel guide is just a brief guide to organize your trip. For more travel guides, hotel reviews, restaurant reviews, travel deals and information for destinations and attractions, visit our site TourismJunction.
