Snooki Has a Literal Run-in with the Police in Italy

Snooki had her first brush with the law in Florence, Italy this weekend. TMZ reports the Jersey Shore star crashed into a police car and is now in custody, though she hasn't been arrested.

Apparently she was driving when she hit the back of the patrol car and managed to wedge her car between the cop car and a wall. Reports say she and Deena Nicole Cortese had to climb out of the vehicle through a window since the door was blocked by the wall. All parties walked away from the crash uninjured.

Snooki Gets a Spin-off

Deciding to inject a bit more pouf into its lineup, MTV announced today that it has signed Jersey Shore star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi to her own yet-to-be-titled spin-off show.

The 12-episode show will chronicle the life of Snooki and her fellow Jersey Shore housemate J-Wow, as the two search for love and deal with the drama of every day life. David Janollari, MTV Head of Programming, said in a statement: “We're excited to put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships."

Snooki isn't the only member of the household getting her own spin-off either. MTV is going ahead with plans to produce another show featuring Pauly-D and his attempt to establish himself as a world-renowned DJ.

Snooki can take a punch like the best of them, but can she handle her own show? Both new spin-offs won't air until 2012, so let the debates begin.
