Katie Perry turned up to the NRJ Music Awards this week sporting a completely different look than what we are used to seeing her with. Gone were the long brown tresses and girlie makeup that we saw in her hit music videos such as “Hot and cold” and “I kissed a girl” and along comes a new Katy Perry, one that is sophisticated, incredibly sexy and almost powerful!

Replacing the long brown tresses, Katy Perry has opted for a very blunt cut bob; following the trend of many a celebrity as the style is currently celebrating its 100th birthday. A one length bob falling just below her chin, Katy has gone for a much darker look which when teamed with the bright red lipstick and crisp white suit screamed power lady rather than girlie girl.

Blunt bangs that stopped just short of her eyebrows completed the new look for the budding singer, showing off her stunning big blue eyes lightly framed with sharp black eyeliner and when looked at altogether, is a style that shows off just how sexy and versatile this young lady can be.
The Louise Brooks inspired bob was said to be prompted by the recent break down of her relationship and is sure to have men flocking for a date especially as the look is almost Betty Boop in style, classically sexy and smart with just a hint of naughtiness.

Although Katy Perry’s new look has had mixed reactions, one thing is for sure, the girlie girl is out and the sexy lady is in!

Katy Perry’s look on the red carpet was very nice at last night's 51st Grammy Awards from Los Angeles, California. I like this new subdued look on Katy, except for that huge pink bow in the middle of that dress it would have looked way better without it.

Of all the performances Katy’s I Kissed A Girl was my second favorite. The colors and the bananas and the berries were a great touch. Too bad she was wearing flats instead of heels though! I could honestly listen to that song a million times and not get bored of it.


Katy Perry said that she opted for glamor on the red carpet but decided on eccentric for the performance.
