The Grand Opening of Playful Learning

Educator Mariah Bruehl is taking her award-winning website, PlayfulLearning.net, to the next level by opening the ultimate, educational one-stop-shop in Sag Harbor, NY—Playful Learning. Bruehl originally created the website to share her expertise as an educator, teacher and mother, to share useful and interesting information with families regarding the growth and development of their children. She hopes that the store, like the site, will become a valuable resource for both children and parents, as well as a place to spend time together.

Parents—have plans yet for this Saturday? Bring the kids and kick off the weekend at the Grand Opening of Playful Learning, the ultimate educational one-stop-shop and toy store. Browse through the handpicked selection of toys, art supplies, interesting books and more while your children take part in educational crafts and munch on organic snacks! Learn about Playful Learning’s engaging Summer Workshops—it’s not too late to register for sessions including,Keeping A Writer’s Notebook, Word Play, Explorations in Art, and Parents Workshop: Playful Learning Experiences.

Playful Learning is an extension of the Parents’ Choice Award-winning website PlayfulLearning.net. Following the mantra “Experience. Discover. Grow.”, Mariah Bruehl created the website to share useful and interesting information with families regarding the growth and development of their children—based on her years of experience as an educator, teacher and mother. The website is designed to help families with planning and preparing for playful learning experiences, allowing users to collaborate and learn from each other—look out for Bruehl’s upcoming book Playful Learning, expected for publication in Summer 2011. Playful Learning was created to become another valuable resource for children and parents, in addition to the website, as well as a place to spend quality time together. By carrying favorite children’s books, games, toys, writing materials and scientific tools, Mariah’s goal is to provide products that are a good match between a child’s stage of development and current interests. Welcome to Playful Learning, a Sag Harbor stop, where families can enhance children’s explorations, interests, imaginations and passions.

Who's Missing? Indoor Fun from International Playthings

International Playthings loves to encourage indoor play that is fun and educational for the whole family!

Great for rainy or cold days when outside play isn’t option, the “Who’s Missing” Calico Card Game brings Calico Critters popular line of favorite friends—like the Fisher Cats and Hopscotch Rabbits—to life in a new way!

For ages 3 and up, this classic card game involves memory, strategy, and of course, fun! The dealer deals out 5 cards in a row. Players hide their eyes while the dealer takes away a card. Who can remember which critters are missing? As the game is played, the row of cards grows, so the game becomes more challenging the longer you play. Cards are also fun collector items for Calico Critters fans!
