Seymour Seeks Restraining Order Against Attacker

Simon Cowell's ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour is seeking a restraining orderagainst the woman who assaulted her outside the American Idol finale last week (19May09).

Janice Thibodeaux claimed the attack was motivated by footage of Cowellpretending to throttle fellow Idol judge Paula Abdul on the show.

Seymour also fears the woman will again assault and further harass

She has since been charged with misdemeanour assault, and now Seymour is asking a court to keep them apart.

In legal documents filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday (27May09) and obtained by Tmz.com, Seymour's lawyers say of the assault "(Thibodeaux) attacked (Seymour) from behind, putting her into a headlock, wrenching her neck and choking her with the full force of her 200 pound frame".

The papers go on to claim Thibodeaux "has sought publicity for her wrongful act and stated to the media that they were intentional and that she does not regret that".

Seymour also fears the woman "will again assault and further harass".

The US TV presenter, 34, says The X Factor judge will always be special to her.

‘I'll always love Simon,’ she tells the Daily Mail. ‘When you've been with someone that long, you can't help it.

‘I'll always have a special place in my heart for him, but it was time to move on.’

Terri, who confirmed their split earlier this month after 6 years together, did have a subtle dig at Simon – revealing she’d love to go on rival Saturday night show Strictly Come Dancing.

‘I’d consider doing Strictly Come Dancing,’ she says. ‘I’ve danced in a music video, so I don’t think I’d be useless at it.’

'Simon has basically been waiting for Terri to announce the relationship is over for months,' a friend reveals.

'She has been a weight around his neck for a long time but the problem was that his mother absolutely adored Terri and thought the world of her,so Simon was in a bit of a rut.'

The TV presenter, 34, shared 48-year-old Simon's Beverly Hills mansion but moved out into a luxury LA pad he bought for her this summer. She is now rumoured to be dating actor Stephen Dorff.

'She wanted kids with Simon desperately, but he wasn’t interested in starting a family or getting married,' the source tells The Mail On Sunday.

'All Simon cares about is being the richest, most successful man on the planet. Celebrity and money are all that he cares about.'

Simon Cowell's rep has rubbished claims The X Factor judge has broken up with his squeeze Terri Seymour.

A mag reported he had a massive row with his long-term girlfriend, which resulted in him banning her from a holiday.

Simon allegedly ditched TV presenter Terri to go to St Tropez with his ex Sinitta, 39, and hypnotist Paul McKenna, 44,

And he was said to have bought her a £2.3million LA home as a 'parting gift'.

But his rep insists everything's fine between the pair.

'This story is nonsense,' his spokesman tells Metro. 'Simon's trip was planned and Terri couldn't make it because she had scheduled work in the States.'

Simon, 48, and Terri, 34, have dated for 6 years.
