Idol dad banned from backstage

Several news sources have reported that American Idol contestant David Archuleta's father has been banned from backstage.

The Associated Press reported that the elder Archuleta's backstage acccess was revoked due to a disruption of production. Jeff Archuleta wanted his 17-year-old son to incorporate lyrics from Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" into his performance of "Stand By Me," an unauthorized change that caused problems for the song's publisher.

According to TMZ, Archuleta ignored the producers' protests, costing American Idol a large sum of money in lawyer fees.

Jeff Archuleta refused to comment, but a family friend told People there were no problems and the reports are "getting tiring."

While the stage dad is banned from backstage, he will still be able to sit in the audience and watch the live show.

Apparently Idol contest David Archuleta has a stage pop like the Simspson sisters Jessica and Ash.

According to Entertainment Tonight, they concluded that David was not on top of his game Tuesday night because his father, Jeff, threw a tantrum at a recording session the day before.

Sources claim that Angry Daddy screamed at David during the session because he wasn't happy with the way his son was belting out the tunes- he even brought David to tears!!!!!

Representatives from American Idol had no comment on what happened
