Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne face losing their US home over £1million tax debt

In debt: Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne owe more than £1million to the US tax authorities and could face losing one of their homes in the US


Now so long ago they were ranked among the wealthiest couples in Britain, having accumulated a £100million fortune.

But now Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have run up £1million in tax debts and are at risk of losing one of their homes, it has emerged.

They are being chased by U.S. authorities over two years of unpaid tax, according to a Sunday newspaper.


Documents filed by tax authorities show that ‘John and Sharon Osbourne, ‘self-employed’, owe $718,948 (£440,000) in tax from 2008 and $1,024,175 (£625,900) from the following year, making the total owed $1,743,123 (£1,065,000).

In 2005 they were included in a list of the UK’s most wealthy couples.

But on Saturday Mrs Osbourne posted a message on Twitter which said: ‘You can’t rely on anyone but yourself. You have to be on top of your own business affairs. My fault … lesson learned.’

The couple, who are thought to own seven properties, are said to have been hit hard by the recession. However, if they sell one of their homes, it is likely they would be able to pay the tax they owe.

Former X Factor judge Mrs Osbourne, 58, who is thought to have spent more than £120,000 on plastic surgery in the past and is renowned for her love of shopping, is, according to friends, ‘mortified’ by the situation.

The couple are also known for being generous to charitable causes, with Mrs Osbourne donating a £100,000 diamond necklace and ring to a tsunami charity in 2005.

Her husband, 62, famously gave a £3,000 gold crucifix to a beggar who asked him for spare change.

An American legal expert, Peter Haven, told the Sunday Mirror there was a serious risk that the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. tax office, could seize their £7.5million house in LA suburb Hidden Hills or their £6.1million beach house in Malibu.

He added that the couple’s 2010 tax is expected to be paid in the next week. If that goes unpaid then the money owed could increase significantly.

Documents filed in Los Angeles are also said to reveal that their daughter Kelly, 26, owes £21,000 in unpaid taxes from 2009.

A spokesman for the family was unavailable for comment.

Coyote Ugly?

Maybe not the villain Wild E coyote that's always after our fellow Road Runner, but definitely a villain. While the Ozbourne family was inside their L.A. home watching Michael Jackson's Memorial Service they never heard their poor little dogs yelps as he was being eaten by a coyote. Yes that's right a coyote! Apparently there has been many attacks on pets by this wild coyote. The Department of Animal Services are starting to get worried so they issued a warning stating, "Wild animals are opportunistic, and coyotes fit this mould very well."

The Osbournes, our rock and roll family is notorious for have dozens of pets, as of now they have about 18 dogs! This one unfortunate dog, according to close family friends kinda had it coming to him. The dog has had a past quite similar to this wild coyote, had always been up to antics. He bit the head off of a dove and a bat! Can you say karma?

Host Using No Class on Show About Class

Help me out here ...You have a show about learning to display manners, class, and dignity along with general respect for others --and the host is not held to the same standards of manners (let alone class)?

Yep, only in America can this happen. It's what we American's are known for. In a word; hypocrisy! That is exactly what Sharon Osbourne did on her beloved Charm School reunion show with busty blond "Beauty and the Geek" winner Megan Hauserman (age 29). While Hauserman is no charm school stand-out, it appears the basic premise of the show is no longer, "follow by example," but more along the lines of "do as I say, not as I do."

The photos above and below show it all. Reportedly Sharon was upset over her husband Ozzy being insulted by Megan. But instead of handling it in the theme of the show, Sharon readily dumped a big-gulp sized sugary drink all over Megan Hauserman. Security burst onto the set stage to break up a melee (hair pulling etc...) and Hauserman was escorted from the set. Nice class Sharon, way to use the bully pull-pit!

And to think so many of Americans hero worship false idols such as Sharon Osbourne. God bless her though, she knows how to keep herself in the spot light. From her first rise to fame by cunningly marrying Ozzy Ozbourne and stepping out of obscurity to putting her misfit family on TV for all to laugh at and be appalled at. Don't get me wrong, I'm an Ozzy fan, great music in his day, and he's a legend for his antic of biting the head off a bat, but Sharon's talent is truly remarkable. She's a PR maven.

Now all she has to remember is this, "Those who cannot do; teach."



In follow-up, Hauserman ended up in an area L.A. hospital and did indeed press charges. PCM has yet to determine if LAPD has made any arrests.
