Keith Urban: I'm just Mr. Mom during the day

While some fathers may feel daunted at the thought of looking after their little baby alone, New Zealander Keith Urban says he relishes the times when wife Nicole Kidman hands control of daughter Sunday Rose to him.

"When my wife's working and I've got time off, I'm just Mr Mom during the day taking care of the little girl," the 40-year-old musician proudly revealed to US music show CMT Insider.

Like many parents, Keith is having to balance his family life with his work commitments. Next year, though, things will be different for the Urban-Kidman family - they will all join him on tour.

"It's good to have them out on the road… so we're not apart very much," he said.

Actress and husband Keith Urban leaving Nashville

Nicole Kidman has convinced husband Keith Urban to relocate from Nashville to LA.

The actress, who gave birth to daughter Sunday Rose two weeks ago, wants to get back on familiar turf.

'Nic initially loved the privacy and peace that was afforded by living in Nashville,’ says a source.

‘But the big trade-off was being totally isolated from work colleagues and friends in LA.

‘She thought it would work, and it was fine for Keith as it's the centre of his world, but it's not a good thing for Nicole, whose agent and major studio are located in LA.'

Nicole, 41, and Keith, 40, have bought a £2.3million mansion in Beverly Hills and plan to up sticks later this year.

The move will allow her to see more of her Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13, the children she adopted with ex husband Tom Cruise, 46.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban name Sunday Rose after muse

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

And indeed, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, is the sweet baby girl of parents Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.

But where did she get the name Sunday Rose?

The couple named their daughter, born July 7, after an early 20th-century artist’s muse Sunday Reed, according to the Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph. Her middle name, Rose, is a nod to Urban’s late grandmother Rose.

“I have read a bit about Sunday Reed and her husband John—she was a key mover and shaker in the arts around the beginning of the century,” Kidman’s father Antony told the paper. “The name Sunday struck me as being a nice name for a woman, so my wife and I mentioned it.”

Kidman and Urban reportedly visited an exhibition by artist Sidney Nolan, who had a longtime relationship with Reed who became his muse, reported the paper.

The exhibition featured a quote from Nolan that was scrawled across a wall: “When you are young you are given a good view of life, because of your closeness to birth.”
