Salman Khan VEER hot look came after 1000 push up, 2000 sit up daily!!
Salman Khan, the macho Khan of bollywood who plays the part of a sword- wielding Pindari warrior on horseback in Anil Sharma’s upcoming flick ‘Veer’, had to do 1000 push up, 2000 sit up, 500 crunches on a daily basis to get that fabulous body required for the character.
In fact, the whole exercise regime had become imperative as the sword used in the film weighed around twelve kg, while the armour used by Salman Khan’s character was of about fifteen kg, and to carry all this comfortably on a horse back, the person needed to have a very strong shoulder, back and thighs. It was keeping in mind these requirements of the Pindari character that director Anil Sharma asked Salman Khan to do these exercises to strengthen these muscles.
Besides above heavy exercise routine, the macho Khan also underwent cardio exercises for one full hour to achieve that enviable physique. Though Salman Khan already had a very muscular and strong physique, but to impart a sense of realism to the whole saga, the director asked him to make efforts to look like a true Pindari soldier of nineteenth century.
Sources close to Salman Khan say that he was his own instruction in the matter of body building and followed an old- fashioned way of achieving it. He would stay away from junk food and depend on his mother’s home cooked food. He went for cycling, swimming and gymming to get his fabulous look for ‘Veer’, but never indulged in dieting.
Though Salman Khan, removing his shirt in a film is nothing new but in ‘Veer’, his look has a different aura and attraction to it altogether. Though it was dictated by the need of looking like a warrior, but somewhere there was also influence of Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’ muscular look in all these things.
In fact, when the first look of Salman Khan starrer had come out, Aamir Khan was said to be not that impressed and asked Salman Khan to follow a certain exercise regime dictated by him. Salman Khan not only took that criticism in a positive way but also had decided to abstain from alcohol till the time ‘Veer’ shooting ended.
‘Veer’ has Salman Khan playing the character of a Pindari warrior who is like a one man army and decides to fight for the freedom of his tribe and country against the British Empire. In fact, Salman Khan leads a mighty revolt against the powerful firang empire.
The film also has veteran Mithun Chakravorthy playing his father in it. Sohail Khan, Salman Khan’s brother essays the part of Salman’s warrior brother. Zarine Khan, who is said to be similar looking as Salman’s beau Katrina Kaif, plays a Rajput princess and Sallu’s love interest. Jackie Shroff, too, plays an important role in the film.
