Hilary Duff Pens Novel for Young Adults

Newlywed Hilary Duff has written a novel for the Young Adult market. The book is titled Elixer, and is pitched at teen girls. Duff told the AP, “I love reading young adult books even though I'm a little older than the set demographic.” Duff is well-acquainted with the YA demographic from having played Lizzie McGuire from 2001-2004 on the hit Disney television series, where she became a celebrity fashion trend setter.

All in all it has been a busy year for Duff, who recently married professional hockey player Mike Comrie in a dress created by fashion industry icon Vera Wang. She was writing the book at the same time she was planning her wedding and said that both were very challenging and deadline-driven.

Hilary Duff Engaged!

Actress and singer Hilary Duff is now engaged to Edmonton Oilers hockey player Mike Comrie.

"Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie were engaged this weekend while vacationing in Hawaii," Duff's rep Nanci Ryder said Friday. "After having been together for over two years, they are very excited to share this happy news. They are thankful for all of your warm wishes."

Earlier in their relationship the 29-year-old hockey player gave Duff a Mercedes for her birthday.

The 22-year-old actress is often spotted at Comrie's hockey games and has admitted to reading Hockey For Dummies in order to better understand the game. Comrie also supports Duff's career by accompanying her to press events and shoots.

Hilary Duff is The Newest Gossip Girl

Actress and singer Hillary Duff will be joining the cast of Gossip Girl. She will play Olivia Burke, a famous movie star who attends New York University in order to have a normal college experience. Blair(Leighton Meester), Dan(Penn Badgley) and Vanessa(Jessica Szohr) have all been accepted to NYU and Olivia will be Vanessa's roommate.

As a member of the Gossip Girl cast, Duff will surely have her fair share of drama. Will she befriend her new roommate Vanessa? Will she get along with Blair? And who will be her romantic interest, Dan perhaps?

Hillary Duff will be on multiple episodes beginning with the fourth episode of the new season on October 5.

Hilary Duff has put down Oscar-winning actress Faye Dunaway.

The singer has hit back at remarks Faye reportedly made about the 21-year-old's acting.

Hilary has been cast in a remake of Bonnie And Clyde, which earned Faye, 68, an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in 1967.

‘I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don't even know who she is,’ Hilary tells E! News.

‘I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now, too.’

Hilary Duff has laughed off reports she treated her fella to a saucy dance in public.

The singer was rumoured to have performed the routine for hockey player boyfriend Mike Comrie in front of a room full of people.

But Hilary insists she’s too innocent to do that.

‘I mean, little ol’ me? It’s shocking,' she says. 'People love to believe it – but it’s not true.

'And they’re so descriptive about these lap dances. I don’t even know how to do a lap dance.’

Hilary, 21, is tired of people talking about her sex life.

‘I was quoted saying I was a virgin, but I absolutely did not say that,’ she tells Maxim. ‘That’s nobody’s business but my own.

She knows how to let loose with her cute boyfriend though! The former “Lizzie McGuire” star was all smiles as she and her beau took to the beach, mingling with their fellow guests at the Labor Day weekend bash.

Hilary's family has been in the news lately as her father had been ordered a recent 10 day jail sentence for selling assets without court approval. Since last Thursday, Bob Duff, spent one night in a Texas lock-up before being granted early release on Friday.

Hilary Duff's father has been jailed for contempt of court.

Robert Duff was reportedly arrested yesterday (27.08.08) and sent by a judge to a Texas county jail for allegedly violating an injunction by selling assets without court approval.

He must pay the $368,000 he earned from the sale into a court fund and serve 10 days in jail.

The arrest came following an earlier dispute between the 20-year-old singer's parents over her birthday party.

Robert and Susan - who have been involved in a bitter divorce battle for two-and-a-half years - appeared in court after Susan requested $25,000 to spend on presents and a party for Hilary's 21st birthday next month - the same sum she claims they spent on elder daughter Haylie's 21st in 2006.

A lawyer for Robert asked Susan - who claimed she relies on financial help from Hilary to pay lawyers' fees and other bills - if her "adult millionaire daughter would be upset if she did not receive an expensive gift and party for her birthday".

Susan replied that her daughter "is emotionally upset by the abandonment of her father and deserves to have some kind of recognition for a young life well lived", before claiming he currently spends his cash on buying his girlfriend's sons gifts.

Robert was ordered to pay $12,500 to Susan for Hilary's birthday, before being arrested for contempt of court.

What has Hilary Duff being doing lately? Her singing and acting careers seems to be on serious hiatus. Well, here's your answer...

The teen starlet was spotted getting a manicure and pedicure at a nail salon on Riverside Drive in the San Fernando Valley. She's relaxing and flipping through the latest issue of Glamour magazine in the salon.

The 20-something celeb hasn't been featured in any film besides the flop "War, Inc." with John Cusack. She (no surprise here) plays a singer. The film came out in April 2008.

Hilary Duff on 90210

According to reports, singer-actress Hilary Duff has been offered a starring role on The CW's new spinoff of Beverly Hills, 90210.

The 20-year-old would play Annie, a theater actress who struggles to fit in since her father is the principal of Beverly Hills High.

Duff would join castmembers Dustin Milligan, Nip/Tuck's AnnaLynne McCord, and possibly even original Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Jennie Garth.

Hilary Duff probably found herself pretty embarrassed at a concert in Mexico. This video from YouTube shows the bad timing that seemed to expose her lip-synching! Oops! At the beginning of her performance, the young star started singing, but her mic was turned off, so she masked the whole situation with a little dancing until her backing track came on.
