Heather Locklear Will Return to Role of Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place

Heather Locklear will return to "Melrose Place" as scheming vixen Amanda Woodward. Locklear will make her debut appearance on the show Tuesday, November 17.

“We’re ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to ‘Melrose Place,’” said executive producers Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer. “Heather’s involvement in the show is something we’ve been working on for some time as we couldn’t imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character’s inclusion.”

Locklear joined the popular 1990s series “Melrose Place” at the end of season one and remained part of the show throughout its seven year run. She joins original castmates Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bisset and Daphne Zuniga in the updated version for The CW which airs Tuesdays at 9:00PM (ET/PT). The new “Melrose Place” series premiere improved 9% in women 18-34, 7% in adults 18-34 and 8% in adults 18-49 compared to the premiere of “Privileged” in the time period a year ago. In fact, Melrose Place's women 18-34 performance out-delivered every “Privileged” telecast in the time period last year and all but two “90210” telecasts (the second hour of last year’s series premiere and the May 12, 2009 telecast).

PCM Recommended Reading: Flirting With Forty

One of my favorite things to do is read and book and then watch the movie that is based off the book! I was so happy when we received the book copy of, "Flirting With Forty," and then saw that it was made into a Lifetime Original Movie. This book is a perfect beach read as it is mostly set in Hawaii! I definitely got into the summer mode and felt the need to go surfing after finishing this book.

"Flirting With Forty" is the story of a divorced mother of two on the brink of her 40th birthday who, while on vacation, enters into an unexpected romance with a much younger man and learns that life can begin at 40. The movie, which aired back in December on Lifetime, starred Heather Locklear and Robert Buckley.

I was disappointed with Locklear's performance and thought she was a bit drab in the movie, however, couldn't get enough of young and hunky actor Robert Buckley. I thought the movie kept very close to the book and liked the adaptation very much! Definitely check out this book and then go find the movie (Netflix, etc) and take a look at how the characters come to life! Take a look at the book cover and movie poster, too!

Heather Locklear Officially Charged!

Our friends at TMZ.com have just confirmed that actress Heather Locklear has just been charged with one count of driving under the influence of drugs....prescription medications.

No alcohol and no illegal narcotics were found in Heather's system.

Santa Barbara County Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter tells us they believe the prescription medications found in her system "could have impaired her ability to safely drive a motor vehicle."

Which prescriptions, we wonder?!?!

Melrose Place Spin-Off News

If fans of 90's television were happy about the CW's 90210 spin-off then they will be estatic to hear that the network is now in the final planning stages of a Melrose Place spin-off. No writers or producers have been attached to the project at this time, but the creative juices are certainly flowing. They managed to get Shannen Dougherty to return as Brenda Walsh for 90210, let's hope they can convince Heather Locklear, that Melrose Place would just not be the same without the presence of Amanda Woodward! I will be keeping my fingers crossed!

Heather Locklear was charged with driving under the influence of prescription medication on Saturday night (27.09.08).

The former 'Melrose Place' actress - who checked herself into an Arizona treatment facility in June to seek treatment for "anxiety and depression" - was stopped at around 4.30pm after displaying erratic behaviour while driving in Barbara County, California.

Tom Marshall, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP), said: "Around 4.30pm, a female witness saw Heather Locklear driving erratically while leaving a parking lot. The witness said Locklear was revving her engine loudly, and backed over a pair of sunglasses several times.

"The witness called 911 because she was concerned for Locklear's safety. When a CHP officer arrived, Locklear was found seated inside her vehicle, which was partially blocking the roadway.

"Because Locklear appeared disoriented and impaired, she was taken to a local CHP station and drug and alcohol tests were administered. She was cooperative. Alcohol was ruled out as a factor, but based on the officer's observations, we believe Locklear was under the influence of prescription medication."

The 47-year-old actress was taken to a local jail at around 7pm, where she was charged with driving under the influence of prescription medication.

She was released at 11pm on $5,000 bail.

Heather Locklear missing her daugther in treatment

Heather Locklear is getting stronger in a rehab far from Melrose Place.

Only three weeks after she was admitted to an Arizona rehab to receive treatment for anxiety and depression, a friend of the actress’ told People magazine, “The hardest part of all of this is being apart from Ava.”

Ava, Locklear’s 10-year-old daughter, is spending time with her father, Richie Sambora.

The Bon Jovi bandmember got to hang with their daughter, who has been “with family and continuing on with her summer plans,” the source told the magazine.

“Heather’s really happy that Ava got to spend time with her dad,” a friend of the former model’s said, adding that Locklear and her rocker ex, 48, “are speaking all the time.”

As for Ava, Locklear feels confident that she’ll be OK in the longrun.

“She knows she’ll be better than ever, and that they’ll both really benefit from this. She’s feeling better, but it’s tough.”

Locklear, 46, checked herself in to the facility June 19 for an in-depth evaluation of the medication she’d been taking for anxiety and depression.

In addition to seeing doctors regularly, the magazine reports Locklear has been riding horses, getting therapeutic spa treatments and taking quiet meals alone.

She’s also enjoyed several visits from Wagner, who last saw her July 4.

Heather Locklear Gets a Visit from Jack Wagner

Still receiving treatment for anxiety and depression at an Arizona facility, Heather Locklear's recent visit from her boyfriend Jack Wagner "really lifted her spirits," says a close pal.

Wagner – who hadn't seen Locklear since she left Los Angeles for the facility on June 19 – spent several hours with her last weekend, sources say. On Sunday, the two had lunch together in the facility's dining area.

"He looked like he was taking care of her," says an observer. "It was very sweet."

Dressed down in sweats and a T-shirt, Locklear, 46, "looked exhausted," says the observer. "Even with no makeup she was beautiful, but she seemed tired, pale and very skinny."

Wagner, 48, chatted to Locklear, leaned in to kiss her on the forehead, and at one point during the otherwise quiet meal, says the observer, "He made her laugh."

Far-Reaching Support
Locklear checked herself in to the facility for an in-depth evaluation on the suggestion of a doctor. She had been taking medication for anxiety and depression since after her 2006 split with Richie Sambora, with whom she has a daughter, 10-year-old Ava.

Among her biggest supporters since she entered treatment: her beau of more than a year, Wagner, as well as her ex.

"Heather has a few really close, trustworthy friends who are very protective and are pulling for her," says the pal. "What she's doing is so brave. Are some days tougher than others? Yes. But it will all be worth it when she's back to being able to really feel the joy in every day."

There is no timeframe on Locklear's stay at the treatment center. "Once she's feeling better," says the friend, "She'll come home."

Heather Locklear in treatment for Psychological issues

Heather Locklear is seeking treatment for psychological issues at an Arizona facility, People magazine reports.

“Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression. She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment,” the actress’ rep told the magazine. “This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released.”

Since Locklear’s divorce from rocker Richie Sambora in February 2006, the 46-year-old actress has had a series of rough patches.

She began taking medication after she filed for divorce, and was distraught when her former friend Denise Richards began dating Sambora in the summer of 2006.

Earlier this year, a man who identified himself as Locklear’s doctor called 911 when he thought the actress was suicidal.

After filming the Lifetime movie Flirting with 40 in the spring, Locklear decided to head to an in-patient treatment center. “She wanted to feel better and get to the bottom of what was troubling her,” a source told People. “She’s had a rough year.”

Locklear and Sambora, 48, have a daughter, Ava, 10.

Meanwhile Jack Wagner, 48, who has been dating Locklear since April 2007, told the magazine: “Anyone who has the courage to seek help in order to live a healthy life gets my support 110 percent.”
