In Defense of KanYe

He's the villain; he's a monster. He does anything to bring attention to himself. He stole candy from a baby when he stole poor Taylor Swift's microphone on Sunday night. But guess what, he's a star, so everyone will pay attention to him.

KanYe West pulled an epic stunt at the 2009 Video Music Awards broadcasted on MTV. After storming the stage when Taylor Swift won an award over Beyonce, he praised Beyonce for her "best video of all time". West stomped on Taylor Swift's shining moment as the first country artist to receive a VMA.

Is anyone even suprised? West isn't famous for his model behavior (girlfriend/model Amber Rose takes care of that), he is a rapper, producer, and icon whose persona is larger than life. It is his responsibility, nay his job, to bring attention to himself, regardless of if it is positive or negative.

West did do the wrong thing, I am not advocating his behavior at all, I am simply stating that Kanye turned an interesting albeit boring telecast into national news. He also skyrocketed Taylor Swift to America's sweetheart status. People in the world who didn't know who Taylor Swift was or what kind of music she made now empathize with her because the big bad wolf blew her house down.

Although West has now apologized on the Internet, on Jay Leno, and on the phone to Swift herself, people are going to talk about how big of a jerk he is for the remainder of his career. It isn't fair to take one moment from an artist's career and punish them for it forever. HE SAID HE'S SORRY - move on people. Just think about all the good times you've had jamming to "College Dropout" or singing along to "Golddigger" and cut KanYe some slack.

Beyonce Knowles shoots new video with male model in Malibu

JAY-Z won’t want to spend too long looking at these sexy snaps over his morning coffee.

Wearing a vest and tiny shorts, his stunning wife BEYONCE KNOWLES frolics with a male model on a sunny beach in Malibu.

Though it should be stressed their touchy-feely antics are all in the name of make believe - the Single Ladies star hit the sand to shoot her new video.

With a huge grin splashed across her face, Beyonce sure looked like she was enjoying herself as the waters lapped at her feet.

Beyonce Hard At Work

Yesterday afternoon, Beyonce was busy logging the hours during a brand new music video shoot on the beaches of Malibu. We are liking this flowing green dress she's rocking, very sheek!
What's the latest with Beyonce? It was just announced that Beyonce will be taking the stage this Sunday night at the Academy Awards. Hugh Jackman is hosting this year, very excited!

Miss Knowles will be teaming up with High School Musical co-star couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, as well as host Hugh Jackman and Mamma Mia!’s Amanda Seyfried in a song and dance piece during the show. That should be interesting! Was 'Zanessa' the best that the Oscars could do this year as far as performers? No offense, guys, but really!

Beyonce claims she's no diva but a normal girl

BEYONCE is just a normal girl, according to the singer herself.

The Crazy In Love hit maker doesn't think her Diva reputation is fair and says she enjoys life more when she is out of the spotlight.

Beyonce explained: "I'm not this round the clock diva looking for attention.

"I'm way more comfortable out of the spotlight and just chilling out with my family.

"I'm very quiet. I love to paint. I love to watch TV though it seems I never get to do it. I love a lot old television shows. I still love the Cosbys. I also love the Fresh Prince."

An Open Letter to Beyonce

(Hey, if it worked for Lindsay Lohan...)

Dear Beyonce:

It's obvious that the organizers of the Presidential Inaugural Ball wanted someone who could generate publicity instead of someone who had genuine talent. You might be oblivious to that fact, since -- despite the assertions of Copernicus several centuries ago -- you genuinely believe the Earth revolves around you and the sun shines out of your buttcrack, but it makes it no less a fact.

So, with that in mind, yesterday evening was about BARACK AND MICHELLE OBAMA, not your attention-whoring, sorry self.

No, I don't think "At Last" should have been the first song of the night -- I don't care if Etta herself sang it -- because this wasn't a wedding.

That said, the first choice for the performance was Jennifer Hudson, in case you didn't know, but she couldn't make it because the poor dear is in mourning over her recent family tragedy. (Not entirely un-coincidentally, around the same time that Hudson's tragedy happened, there was a Blind Item posted by Gatecrasher, mentioning something about how "someone" didn't call their former co-star with their condolences in the wake of a recent tragedy...something about still being bitter about the Oscar snub. Yeah, Ray Charles -- blind AND dead -- could see who THAT was referring to. Petty, much?)

While Hudson may not have been the best choice -- Aretha Franklin, the Reigning Queen, who sang "My Country 'Tis of Thee" earlier that day, would have blown EVERYONE away -- it was certainly a better option than your warbling, caterwauling, borderline-disrespectful version.

Frankly, when I first heard it, I thought it was a joke. I thought you were just demonstrating what my iPod would sound like if it were playing Etta James while being dropped in a wood chipper. Then I saw this interview:

...and I realized that you were dead serious. And I thought, "now, if only someone would drop YOU into a wood chipper."

More to the point, there were TEN other celebrations in DC yesterday, and they ALL played "At Last" so you wouldn't ride on that thunder. Guess you ate that memo, too.

Maybe some of my colleagues appreciate lazy, gold-digging, vapid broodmares, but I for one find them sickening, who go against all that REAL women stand for, and who ultimately make me ashamed to be female.

And, Beyonce, dear, you certainly qualify as a lazy, gold-digging, vapid broodmare.

You are no more 25 than I am (nothing wrong with being in your 30's, but at this point it's so obvious that Helen Keller, blind AND deaf AND dead, could figure it out). You are the queen of the ghetto p***y popping dances, yet you are somehow under the delusion that you are the greatest singer to ever grace the world with your class and elegance (you must've been too busy looking in the mirror when Aretha Franklin was performing). You are illiterate and unintelligent, and it's apparent to anyone with a pair of ears any time you give an interview. See above. (And to those who make the comment that I'm "elitist"...BEING INTELLIGENT IS NOT A BAD THING. I am REALLY sorry that a third-grade reading level is a challenge to you, but you'd better catch up to the rest of us, because the intelligent people are running things now. Get used to it.)

In fact, I will go so far as to say that this performance was THE most audacious, ego-driven, attention-seeking moment in the history of all performances ever done since the beginning of time. Why? Because in several interviews, you have stated your your lack of support for President Obama, and your support for the Republican Party and its ticket. While you're certainly entitled to vote for whom you want to -- contrary to the erroneous opinion of some, I have no problem inherently with Republicans, but I DO have a problem with unintelligent idiots of any political stripe who think that an "argument" entails ad hominem attacks and slander -- and while voting Republican wasn't necessarily a bad thing, I can't help but feel like you wanted to have your cake and eat it too with this performance.

In other words, had McCain won, you'd have done the exact same performance, and given the same exact interview to Nightline...it's like you just wanted to be on the side that was winning. How much more opportunistic can you get?

(My conspiracy theory mind is going down a much more sinister road, but it's one that I won't entertain at the moment...)

And while I'm certainly not feeling any love for Mariah Carey, who had the audacity to sing into a diamond microphone while the rest of the country is spiraling into a recession, there's something about Mariah that is somewhat likable (like, say, her nine octave range). Unfortunately, Beyonce, with your oversized ego and little talent to back it up, you are the FURTHEST thing from likable.

Please let me know when you finally figure out that this historical moment was not about you. Your expedience in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance for your time, I remain,

Why So Classy?

For those who think our President is getting the "classy" treatment because THIS marble-mouthed trainwreck is going to be there...

Beyonce will sing the first dance between Barack and Michelle Obama on inaugural night. The head of the Presidential Inaugural Committee said they were trying to keep it a secret. Well, Beyonce must have ate the memo on accident or something, because she let the secret out.

She issued a statement about it to Entertainment Tonight: "I am so honored that I will be performing for President Obama and the First Lady. To sing 'At Last' while they have their first dance is a dream come true. I could not be more honored and excited that they have asked me to be part of this moment in history."

Beyonce sang the song at the Kennedy Honors and in that Cadillac Records flop. It sort of sounds like Etta James' version...if Etta had laryngitis and sang it while sitting on a shaky dryer with a six pack of hot dogs in her throat.

And you know Beyonce is going to release another statement that says, "I didn't release that statement! Sasha Fierce did! She can't keep a secret!"

Hey, Beyonce...WHY SO CLASSY?

Beyonce turned down a lucrative deal to sell her wedding photos

Beyonce Knowles turned down a lucrative deal to sell her wedding photos.

The singer tied the knot with Jay-Z, 39, in New York in April 2008.

But the couple wanted to keep the ceremony as private as possible.

‘I didn’t want a dramatic wedding,’ she says. ‘People can sometimes put too much emphasis on the big day, but it’s so temporary, it’s gone in a second.

‘They offered us crazy money, but we weren’t interested. Outside it was paparazzi madness, but inside it was beautiful.’

Beyonce, 27, is enjoying being a newlywed.

‘I knew I wouldn’t get married before the age of 25,’ she tells Fabulous.

‘You have to know yourself, know what you want, spend time by yourself and be proud of who you are before you can share with someone else.

‘I was 18 when we met, so there was no rush. But the wait was worth it. It feels great being married. I had my own life before I became someone’s wife.’

‘Our relationship is very easy. We respect each other. You know someone loves you by the way he treats and respects you.

'I think like a guy. If I do something wrong I don’t get emotional.’

Beyoncé, 27, married Jay-Z on 4 April last year.

The singer married rapper Jay-Z in a secret ceremony seven months ago.

But she says they have no plans to have children.

‘I’ve seen the reality of having a kid and I know that I’m not quite ready for it,’ she tells Hello!

'But when I do eventually have a child, I can only pray that he is amazing as [my nephew] Jules.

'He’s just the best. He’s also a lot of work!’

Earlier this year, Jay-Z, 38, said he was looking forward to starting a family.

Beyoncé, 27, earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Dreamgirls alongside Jennifer Hudson, 27, and Jamie Foxx, 40.

‘After doing these roles that were so emotional I was thinking to myself, “OK, I need to be a superhero”,' she says.

Economy class Beyonce Knowles

Beyonce Knowles still flies economy class.

The 'Crazy in Love' singer - who along with husband Jay-Z is worth millions of dollars - insists she doesn't mind shunning the elite seats to sit with the general public when she travels.

She is quoted as saying: "Even now I sometimes fly economy if I need to. We had a storm in Miami and there was a hurricane coming so we just got out.

"You know the airlines where if you're fifth in line, you sit in seat five? And then they throw a peanut at you with your drink? I don't care about those kind of things."

However, the 27-year-old star admitted there are some reasons why she prefers first class, including a greater degree of privacy

Beyonce - who recently travelled to Japan for a promotional appearance with her sister Solange - added: "It's just that people don't give me peace in economy, that's the hardest thing."

Beyonce top-less in sexy shoot to promote new album

BEYONCE looks like she could eat the PUSSYCAT DOLLS alive in this fiercely sexy shot to promote her new album.

Dressed in figure-hugging jeans, the singer shows off her perfectly pert derriere that will put every previous winner of Rear of the Year to shame.

Saucy ... Beyonce

Hot totty maybe, but it seems the former DESTINY'S CHILD star is about to go a little 'diva' on us.

The singer has renamed herself Sasha Fierce, insisting her sensual and outgoing alter-ego is the persona she embodies onstage.

Beyonce said: "I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage.

"An alter-ego I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am."

She added: "Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage."

New album I Am... Sasha Fierce is released on November 18.

BEYONCE Knowles has lost her Dreamgirl looks by piling on more than a stone in weight.

And the 27-year-old has replaced her long, flowing locks with a messy blonde wig.

Beyoncé gained 15lb and donned a horrendous blonde hairpiece to portray legendary blues singer Etta James for her latest film, Cadillac Records.

It is not the first time the Crazy In Love singer has altered her figure for a film.

She went on a liquid diet to slim down for her role in Dreamgirls two years ago.

But she told an American magazine her latest change of image was much more fun.

Beyoncé revealed: “It was way easier – and tastier – than having to lose so much weight for Dreamgirls.”

But don’t worry, Beyoncé has dieted her way back to her usual svelte self now that filming has finished.

Beyonce Knowles' 'exciting' new life

Beyonce Knowles is "terrified, but excited" about married life.

The 'Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)' singer - who wed Jay-Z earlier this year - admits it is taking time for her to get used to her new relationship status.

She said: "This is a new chapter for me. I'm terrified, but excited. It's like I'm a new woman!"

The 27-year-old beauty also revealed Jay-Z has inspired a lot of songs on her new record 'I Am?', adding: "I am happy right now and this album has a lot of love songs that talk about my emotions - me naked with my heart exposed."

Beyonce also spoke about her role as blues singer Etta James in upcoming film 'Cadillac Records', a role for which she was required to gain 15lbs.

She told America's InStyle magazine: "It was way easier - and tastier - than having to lose so much weight for 'Dreamgirls'. I also studied Etta's mannerisms and tried to make them my own. My performance, my posture - everything was so different from who I am. It was difficult."
