New Images from Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland

We may have to wait until 2010 to see the film on the big screen, but the first photos of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen have surfaced for Tim Burton's take on Alice Wonderland. The 3D film is slated to hit theaters in the spring of next year, we are definitely looking forward to this one...the pics look fabulous!

The Real Thing or a Trick!

This image is rumored to be the first photo leaked from the set of Tim Burton's new Alice in Wonderland film. It is Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter! I think he looks amazing, and the costuming definitely looks Burtonesque.

I ask you PCM reader's is this photo the real deal or just some photoshop magic?

Johnny Depp to Play Mad Hatter

Johnny Depp will be playing the Mad Hatter in a new version of Alice in Wonderland.

The film is directed by Tim Burton, who is putting a new angle on the classic children's tale.

“Tim has had designs on ‘Alice in Wonderland’ since before he was famous," a source said. “He has a knack for turning what seems like stories for just kids into gripping, spooky fables loved just as much by adults. He’s held out on doing ‘Alice’ until he got a big enough budget. Now this film is financed by Disney so money won’t be a problem.”

The film is slated for a 2010 release; it will be Depp and Burton's seventh collaboration.

Introducing 'Alice'

Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is slated to star in the new adaption of Lewis Carroll’s classic fantasy novel Alice in Wonderland.

Directing the film is Tim Burton, we're sure it's going to be twisted yet.. amazing! According to THR, Alice and Wonderland will be shot with live-action and performance-capture footage and presented in Disney Digital 3-D.

Filming begins this November.
