Akon: Rapper convicted after throwing fan off stage

Akon has pleaded guilty to harassment after he threw a 15-year-old boy off stage in New York.

Fan Abby Rosa claims she was injured during the incident and was later diagnosed with concussion.

Audience members told the Associated Press that someone threw an object at the rapper.

He apparently asked people to point to the culprit and a security guard sent the boy to the stage.

Akon, real name Aliaune Thiam, is then said to have lifted the teen onto his shoulders before throwing him into the crowd.

He was fined £165 and ordered to do 65 hours community service following the incident at the Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill in June 2007.

Akon, 35, refused to comment as he left court yesterday.

Akon's Trial Postponed

The Times Herald reports that Akon’s trial, which was supposed to begin today in Fishkill Town Justice Court, has been postponed until Dec. 17.

On that date, it will be determined whether or not a trial will take place or if matters can be resolved without a trial.

Akon pleaded not guilty last December to endangering the welfare of a minor, a misdemeanor and second-degree harassment, a violation. The charges arose from a June 3, 2007 incident where he allegedly threw then 15-year-old Harriman resident Anthony Smith from the stage at the annual KFest concert at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill.

He appeared last night at a free, MySpace CD release show at the China Club in New York City to promote today’s release of his new album, “Freedom.”

Akon's Exploits Caught on Tape

It would seem you can't teach an old dog new tricks, and in this case Akon is your neighbor's annoying Jack Russell leg-humper.

He got "physically aggressive" with a female concertgoer last weekend and it was caught on tape.

After the simulated sex controversy with a 15-year-old girl in Trinidad and Tobogo in 2007, you would think Akon had learned his lesson, or at least added a "Warning: Bearer of this ticket may be subject to molestation" to concert tickets.

Akon scheduled to appear on court in December 3, 2007

Akon throwing a fan

After the issue of a 15-year old sex simulation scandal, Akon must also deal with the Fishkill incident where he hoisted the fan across his shoulders, and threw him into the crowd. Akon was charged of endangering the welfare of a minor, second-degree harassment, and misdemeanor. And he is scheduled to appear on court on December 3.

Akon is in deep water with fans again!

When Akon sings "It Don't Matter," maybe he is referring to his fans!

He has had two recent incidents with fans, the latest happening at Kfest this weekend.

Supposedly a kid threw a frisbee on stage and hit Akon, who responded by calling the kid on stage and then throwing him off. One news site says the kid may have broken his arm!

This comes on the heels of an incident in April when the singer simulated sex acts with a 14-year-old girl at Zen nightclub in Port of Spain.
I guess he will be feeling "Lonely" after he scares away all his fans. Yikes!... Anger management, anyone?
