Oh how nice, instead of AT&T doing the work themselves they are having us do it for free.
**** you AT&T
nice buddy....
why hire someone?? when everyone can report things to them...(is it really that hard to report a problem when you have the app right there??) this way they can fix the network faster.( a few million people reporting or a crew of hundreds driving across the land) Instead of the dumb VERIZON guy walking around all year long saying CAN YOU HERE ME NOW? lol

Ok here goes...
Fair comment, Major Nelson, or the guy he's talking to goes on to say about the price difference, the enclosure for the drive, the testing done for the drives that have to live up to a standard of performance and how long they last for. Quality control I guess, yes i know theres been problems with the xbox 360 before anyone says anything about that, but then again, we only hear mainly about the problems with peoples consoles, not about all the ones that people arent having problems with.
Microsoft dont make the hard drives, they buy them, enclose them, add the required software, etc, and then sell them at a profit, OMG a company making a profit,.. I do think that they should drop the price though, but not to less than $80, Id say $140 seems fair.
I'm guessing that these hard drives are put together in the same factories in China as the console. $80 is the price I could pay for one MS is buying them in bulk at a discount.
I'm certainly with you on companies making a profit. No one can fault them for that, but when you gouge consumers ($100 wireless WTF?) they take notice. This worries me as a 360 owner because if Sony manages to surpass the 360 total sales (which would mean they were selling like crazy) developers would be more likely to make games for the PS3. So in a sense, I'm greedy. I want games for the system I have.
This is a step in the wrong direction for MS. They have a healthy lead, they could easily stomp Sony with a price cut or an add in like wireless. Instead they increase the price, give you a little more and continue raping you on the accessories. How does a controller cost half as much as a wireless adapter?
Sorry if it sounds like I'm pissed at you, StokeLee. I'm not, just a little peeved at MS that's all. :)

I think a lot of people are thinking too much about their high school experiences with burning up strips of Magnesium, if the nano was to be made out of Magnesium, it would be as flame proof as any other metal/plastic and if the weight is decreased, this could be a nice bonus.
Plus, Aluminium is really energy consuming to make, before WW2, it was a luxury metal, one of the rarest and most valuable metals. With the oil price going up, it is hardly surprising that the Al prices go up too, and people start looking for alternatives
If the rumor is correct, and Apple is still Apple, this change will mean:
Lighter iPod Nano/Shufffle
Cheaper (relatively)
Sexier (according too previous posters)
More scratch resistant (this will be the case whatever material is used)
add these to a larger flash drive and a new sexy design, and the Argo will have no chance whatsoever:)

The entire Western civilization has been in the 3rd phase for quite a while, don't you think?
Yes I agree. What do you think the decline has been attributed to?
EDIT: Perhaps the author has already answered my question -
Today, three main threats exist to America’s dominant position in the global economy: loss of economic clout thanks to a shrinking share of world trade, the decline of American technological innovation, and the end of the dollar's privileged status as the global reserve currency.

The phone looks good but I don't like the seeing the sensor like that all the time. This whole is that a parking lot or is he driving debate, I can't really tell but I do see his RPM meter not at zero looks like it's close to 10 so he could be idle somewhere?
It's a parking lot and the shot was obviously taken when the sun is still far above the horizon.

I'm not contending that the Macs increasing popularity is solely caused from a perceived "prestige" factor, but that is certainly helping matters. And a trip to your local snooty coffee shop is ground zero for the people who purchase products solely to be seen with them.
Like I said earlier, most of the people here are mac diehards - not fad followers. But I am saying that the majority of the boost Apple is experiencing IS from fad jumpers. Like it or not, it is what it is and it's exactly what Apple marketing wanted to happen.
Give me a break on the snooty coffee shop. I see as many PCs at coffee shops as I do macs, and why are coffee drinkers 'snooty' to you?
Also, where are you getting this 'switcher' data from?

It makes perfect sense for Apple's cloud to store only purchases made through iTunes. I've got well over 160 GB of music in iTunes, almost all of it NOT purchased from iTunes, so I would imagine it would be a pretty expensive proposition for me (and probably Apple, too) if I wanted it all stored "in the cloud".....

The laptop would have wireless in it. Why not make simple wireless connectivity to have a constant connection with the keyboard when detached?
If you are going to use BT for the keyboard, why don't you just make all these peripherials BT?
A BT mixer. A BT tactile volume control. It would be impossible to have this and keep a portable semi-rugged laptop that isn't the size of a tank. Yet, its useless. You might as well do the same thing with BT instead of wasting all that money on an interface that is clunky.
Definitely NOT smart.
Think about it a BT espresso machine.

I happen to have the displeasure of knowing a good many more than I'd like to, and I'm telling you there's no way that a full 45% of that student body are blue-blooded Mac users. Princetonians are a people lacking utterly in subtlety and charm, and even poorer in aesthetic intuition. They're the people who pose with upturned collars! I can't stress strongly enough: These people aren't Mac users. They're switcheurs.
Has it occured to you that your smug elitism and gross stereotyping is exactly why lots of people hate Ivy Leaguers in the first place?
You should at least recognize that time change. Some Ivy League schools were aggressively phasing out Macs less than a decade ago, and as recent as five years ago. That's enough time for the undergrad population to turn over several times.

As so many other posters, the fact is that you have no idea what transpired. The driver is prima facie guilty of attempted murder. Nothing more needs to be said. I do not understand the number of otherwise reasonable people here who are blaming the victim.
Yes you are right, the husband is obviously guilty of attempted murder. I'm just saying that in this case the guy should be let go. Call me a monster who believes in eugenics, but people who are stupid pollute the gene pool don't deserve to exist. Someone who throws themselves on a car is, to use your termonology, prima facie guilty of being an idiot; and therefore does not deserve to exist and pollute the gene pool (in my belief system at least).

Whatever you guys say... I've had mine since January 2006 and not had a single problem.
They've already gone through some hardware revisions, no reason to assume they are as faulty as people love to suggest... especially considering there are more people with launch units that have never had problems then people that have.
It's smart to get some sort of warranty (or buy from a place with a good return policy) for any electronics purchase, and if you do... then if you happen to have a problem you should just be able to exchange locally anyway. Just be smart about your purchase, keep your receipts, and you have no reason to worry.
Re: HDMI - You might get a little bit better picture/color fidelity, although chances are good you won't really notice.
I agree that you should always get a warranty, but what if you're switching out your console like 3-4 times like people some people have? It becomes a hassle, and a waste of time.

I spoke to two techs at PC World computer superstore (biggest computer retailer in UK) two weeks ago about monitor compatibility with my G4 Mac Mini. Turned out both these guys owned Intel Macs, folks pay $$$$ to have their PCs fixed by these guys:p . Anyway I mentioned I was waiting till Leopard to upgrade my Mac. One of the guys mentioned they'd already got the date for when Intel Mac Mini's with Leopard will be in store. Wait for it... April 2007:( . It seems unlikely that Leopard will pounce onto our screens in January.
Those guy's don't actually know anything, Apple hasn't announced anything other than "Spring 2007". However April sounds right to me. People thinking its coming in January are in for a shock, given how buggy the Leopard builds are rigt now its pretty unlikely that Leopard will be out any sooner than April.
Personally I'd like Apple to wait until Leopard is ready to release it, rather than release a bug ridden piece of crap like 10.4(.0) arguably was.

There are "steam" achievements but I know those don't add to your xbox achievement points. I'm sure the experience is all the same, but I had to get it on PC/Mac even though I have an xbox. All my friends have gotten it on PC or PS3, either way we can play together via steamworks. Xbox guys are going to be lonely hehe
