But, at least they include a HDMI cable and don't forget to tell you that you can't get full HD without it, eh Sony.
Oops, that was a little console war-ish of me.

Nothings wrong with it. People just want the latest and are angry when routine is broken. :o
Actually iMovie 6 has a major flaw. transitions can screw up the audio unless you extract all audio to one of the audio tracks first. while there is clearly a work-around, it's a real PITA.
Also iPhoto's export slideshow feature is pitiful, as it's maximum resolution is 640x480.

4 out of 5 MacRumors readers chose "download full length movies" as their "Rumor of 2006". What happened to the fifth reader?

Only question. Why?
Some say Apple need to buy Netflix. Have those of you even considered what Netflix charges for monthly streaming?
$8
Apple will never let customers eat that much for so little. The day Apple buys Netflix, DVDs would stop, and streaming would go up to $30 a month.
Promised.
Apple could if they had the massive volume and pricing Netflix has negotiated to get it that low. Netflix in my opinion is already a monopoly, pretty much the only reasonably priced and silly easy to access source (through all five of my devices) for streaming video.

Going to buy it soon, so I hope I can tell it soon. I think to run the game smooth most of the settings should be put around medium on a Mac mini. And I hope there is going to be cake!
If there's cake I hope it's not as spicy as the one in the first game. I still have heartburn from it. :D

you don't want -advmethods.
that's the problem i think. try it without -advmethods, and you should see a huge gain
edit: well i'm not sure. i don't think what you did is the same as -advmethods, but i am not sure. you do have core_15, which is what you want.
you are getting 14k ppd with that card?
14k it is finishing a wu every hour so 24 x about 611 points per wu = 14,664 I think it would do better if I didn't have a -bigadv unit running all 12 cores of the cpu but dropping a core to give to the gpu would slow down the bigadv unit which by the way is keeping up with my mac pro at about 34 min per frame.

If this is indeed the new iCal i will be happy, just open up the old ical next to that picture then you will see what i mean.
Other than the movement of the search, day/week/month buttons and a move from the brushed metal to a more even grey I cant really see any differences....I am however basing this off screenshots on the Apple site as I dont have my MBP here atm.

I hope Apple isn't going to sell these movies at the same quality as their current video downloads.
As of now, the only thing they are good for are iPods; on a computer screen it looks terrible. Here here. They are even encoding HD 16x9 TV Shows in 4x3 - unbelieveable. For last year being the year of HD, the iTunes Store Video Encode Department apparently didn't get the memo. :( :confused:I, for one, dont think I'll ever download a movie off iTMS. I was downloading the 1hr + pilot for Psych the other day and that took forever... I'm only excited about the new 'Pods that are bound to be part of such an announcementMe too. Yeah that Psych Pilot was originally tranmitted in HD 16 x 9. So I was shocked to find when I opened it that it is in 4x3. An excellent looking encode. But the completely and lamely wrong aspect ratio. Really shocked me to find nobody caught that on the way in. Looks like the encoders never watch TV.

Yeah but who wants to keep up with 2 when you could just buy one?
I have to agree. I know it's not a big deal but I use my Shuffle primarily as a flash drive. It plugs in my computer when I get to work and I work from it. But I also keep enough tracks on it to bail me out on my journey home should its big iPod brother run out of battery power (I'm not very good at charging!). I wouldn't buy a new Shuffle just for music as it wouldn't get used enough but the music capability was handy to have.
Having said that, I love the new look. :)

imho they have to release the iphone 5 in the summer, cuz many contracts will ending at this time.
It's not like your phone will stop working when your contract expires. iPhone lovers will wait until the next one comes out, even if their contract has expired. If they can't wait they'll just buy an iPhone 4, considering one's contract wouldn't expire this summer if they already have an iPhone 4.
Wrong.
Expiry has nothing to do with it. As an account holder with four iPhones, my line is elligible for upgrade every year.
I have an iPhone 4, I'm upgrade eligible on June 11th.
Where's my iPhone 5, Apple?

For playback over 3G you need to encode using the EyeTV cellular or the 480x360 iPhone preset (you can select between iPhone 480x360, or iPhone + cellular or just cellular under EyeTV's Preferences > iPhone > More Options...).
Not trying to play on 3G, just wifi remotely. Works locally, but when remote in the office (port forwarded, can watch live tv and see guide) all I get is the "this video is not compatible" when the video player comes up.

Anyone know if there's an app that saves similar data? I travel a fair bit and found the mapping quite nice to display.
Google Latitude.. use your phone then you can check it when logged in to your google account on your desktop/laptop by going to https://www.google.com/latitude then click the history tab.

This shouldnt be called 3d, its not in any sense 3d. You need a stereoscopic image to do 3d. This is a cool illusion but it is not 3d at all.
Imagine how awesome it would be if this was combined with the 3DS tech, not only to make it possible for you to look around objects like shown in the video (that should be possible with software on the 3DS) but also to adjust the displays to send the two images to where your eyes are, not just straight forward and force you to keep the device still.
Not possible. Glasses free 3d requires very narrow viewing angles, you cant move your head around or the 3d effect is lost.
This would work great with normal 3d glasses, there is no limit to the viewing angle and the glasses themselves will be able to work like the wiimote/move controller and send data about their position creating a much more accurate effect without judder.

I think you are agreeing with their point, that our devices identify us and are not hard to track, while taking issue with their choice of example. Is that right?
Depends; I don't fear being tracked.....I agree its possible, but much easier to track consumer electronics if you are with the FBI than joe-blow. Again, not an issue to me because I'm not doing anything stupid enough to warrant their attention.
I disagree with their tactics. Take the least dangerous device of them all, because its famous, and create publicity over something thats less effective than stalking someone at 1000ft by walking down the street behind them.
They make it sound like stalkers are going to use this; stalkers aren't going to toy with electronics for hours to make things work, they will do it the old fashioned way or by buying a radio or gps tracking system that you can find at literally hundreds of websites online for dirt cheap.

I could also buy a dog and track down a person by sniffing their scent. Don't see the media making a big deal about that one
