Wow, I'm glad I bought mine when I did. Try to find a Mac reseller store near you and not an Apple Store. I bought mine for $99, no tax in Oregon at The Portland Mac Store (http://www.themacstore.com/locations/portland).

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I remember when Napster and Rio laughed at the iPod and iTunes, and 5 years later.

The ipod almost just caught up to rio in terms of audio.

MacDailyNews.com is carrying a story saying there is a rumor out there that the MobileMe service will become free at some point.

Interesting concept if the rumor is true!

Then they better improve the performance first. If they offered it free then more users would really bog down the current MobileMe

That is only because CDMA had such a jump on GSM in the USA, and the GSM carriers in the USA are still smaller. Verizon also has a massive analog network that T-Mobile won't touch as their phones are GSM only.

Unfortunately, the free market approach adopted when installing networks in the USA has led to a number of problems, and while you might think Verizon service is good relative to the other US carriers, it cannot compare to the carriers in Europe who use a shared GSM network that was adopted after much deliberation. Like most of the world, we are GSM-only.

That's why I'm switching from VZW to T-Mobile!

iSight iMac G5 came out in October '05, Intel iMac came out just 3 months later... in January '06.

Wow, the level of arrogance and lack of respect on MacRumors never ceases to amaze me. Every thread, and I mean every, turns into a free for all of personal attacks and insults. Interesting that I never once insulted or disrespected any one individual, yet two responses attempt to personally attack me. Do you know me? Why is this a personal matter for you?

This is about opinions and civil discourse, not about trying to prove how smart you are or to put someone "in their place". That says more about you than me.

Last time I will address this matter unless you wish to discuss the topic without rolling eyes, assumptions on my intelligence, and overly dramatic misinterpretations on my comments (that had NOTHING to do with you - and this relates more so for the first comment quoted).

    /end
    Lol...

So where exactly did I personally insult you?

If theres no announced release date it can't be delayed. It would just be later than usual. Thats not the same thing. I'm all for waiting. The longer I hang on to my 3GS the more reason I have to upgrade. Just hope It doesnt break so I can sell it to help cover the cost.

They've been trying that for years, ever since the Hotmail era.

Even though Core Duo has been out for about half a year, a lot of pc laptops are still sold with Pentium-M or Celeron-M cpus.
Not those competing with the MacBook.

A quick search at CompUSA reveals that every manufacturer (as well as Dell, obviously not represented) have Core Duo machines in competition with the MacBook's price and size.

Hmm, interesting. I'm not eligible since I didn't play in Intell's last game, but this looks like fun.

No, you mis-read, I meant you must have played in at least three games. Intell's last game is counted if you played in that one. I edited the part to hopefully make it more clear. When I wrote it, Intell's game wasn't over.

You've played in *way* more than three games, so you're in if you want.

The Democrats agreed to historic spending cuts. Where are the Republicans who agree to tax increases?

I'd hardly call agreeing to $38 billion in spending cuts much of an effort - our deficit is what, well over $1 trillion? But I see your point and I'm not in disagreement - I'd like for Republicans to agree on tax increases, but I'd also like the Democrats to agree on a real spending cut, not parade around some spending cut that is equivalent to the amount the water level goes up when a five year old pisses in the pool.

    Interesting poll by Gallup:

The rich are more likely to think their taxes are too high:

I've entered enough equations online to know that this equation is almost always interpreted as:

    280699

I appreciate that it's confusing upon first glance, but the answer simply cannot and should not be 2. If this were the case, math would be an ambiguous study.

It might become more apparent with the equation:
    48/2(9+3)(1+4)+33-47/3(sin(45))

Surely we should not interpret everything following the first division symbol as belonging in the denominator, including an additional fraction. As Wolfram Alpha interpreted, I intended for my equation to be read as:
    280700

Sort of relieved no iPhone 5 announcements, Im firmly bogged down into a 2 year contract.

I have to agree with this one. I have a two year contract and seeing a new iPhone would tempt my wallet.

    Queue the hitler response.....

And when Hitler's constituents thought he was wrong, he decided to annihilate those who didn't want to see things his way too. Destroying opposition rather than improving one's self is way's a "#WINNING" thing to do.

Wow, I gotta get some credit for that one... Charlie Sheen, Apple, and Hitler all in one sentence!

Hitler? What the heck. This is one company exercising their right to control its product. How you got to Hitler is beyond bizzare. This is just an electronic device

Wish Apple did something towards resolution independence and not make images bigger and bigger.

You could argue that when they pump all consumer Mac resolutions up to the limit of human perception, resolution independence becomes sort of moot.

Of course, a fully scalable OS would help accessibility, but for many consumers a retina screen would be an excellent "one size fits all" solution.

That really is such a bad idea :(

Can you imagine the terrible usability in having a screen tilted on it's back and having to lift our arms up to do finger painting.

Who wants to cover their display with their hands?

lol both of you guys, its called the iPad... by the way Apple made it very clear that touchscreen laptops dont work well.
