She doesn't do things by halves! Katie Waissel gets a new tattoo... and ends up covering her whole arm in inkings

New designs: Katie Waissel posted a picture of her new tattoos on her Twitter page

She's never been one to do anything by halves.

And former X Factor star Katie Waissel proved that today when she posted a picture of her new tattoo on Twitter.

However, instead of getting a small and simple design, Katie went all out, covering virtually her entire forearm in inkings.

Katie had been putting the picture on Twitter to show off her claw-like black nails, but ended up drawing attention to her new etchings instead.

As well as the phrase 'I will prevail', perhaps to encourage her in her musical pursuits following the underwhelming response to her record The Ugly Truth, Katie opted for a bunch of purple flowers to be drawn on her right arm.

In addition, Katie had a peace symbol and the number 24 tattooed on her forearm.

Ouch! Katie tried to hide her arm, which was covered in white cream, as she attended a launch earlier this week

But she didn't stop there, as she showed when she attended the launch of Sunglass Hut's new Covent Garden store earlier this week.

Wearing a cut-off printed T-shirt, Katie attempted to hide her left arm, which appeared to be painfully red and covered in white cream, behind her back.

However, she wasn't able to conceal her arm completely, and it could be seen that the design travelled all the way up her arm to just underneath her armpit.

Before getting her new tattoo, Katie tweeted fans: 'Tattoo day!! To express oneself through the work of another mans art, can't wait!!'

She later added: 'Down a back alley in soho about to be Daryl's canvass (sic) ;)'

Before: Katie had no tattoos on her left arm as she appeared on X Factor with mentor Cheryl Cole and fellow singer Treyc Cohen

Katie is no stranger to going under the tattooist's needle, as she already has the phrase Nothing Is Impossible written on her right wrist and a bird design on her left foot.

Meanwhile, Katie, who appeared on last year's X Factor show, has spoken out about her former mentor Cheryl Cole's departure from the show.

Asked if she thinks the panel will survive without Cheryl, Katie said: 'Yes, it's going to be fine. Simon Cowell is a very smart man and he knows what he is doing and I think that the change would be a good thing.

'Gary Barlow is such a talented singer-songwriter who has been in the industry for such a long time.

'It is great to finally have someone on that panel, he could say, "there's a diamond in the rough" and I think that this is going to be really interesting. I think that this is what the show needs.'
