If you want functionality, then go use Windows. Most Mac users are designers and the look of something is just as important as functionality. Steve Jobs may love the look of his day planner, that doesn't mean I have to be stuck with it.

iOS 5 at WWDC and new iPhone hardware at an apple special event in September. You heard it here first.
Shocking as this may sound, WWDC was not designed as a stage to release iPhone updates. WWDC is a DEVELOPER conference...not a release party.
If anything it should be Mac centric as without the Mac the iPhone wouldn't exist.

According to CNET, the new Air will be released around June with a Sandy Bridge ULV Core i5 2537M chip 1.4 GHz that can turbo to 2.3 GHz.
So for .17 GHz upgrade we are sacrificing around 30% graphic power?

Also clock rate is not the only factor for determining chip speed... in fact it is a very small factor. The new processor is not just .17 hz faster, its a whole new architecture. Its why the 2.0 Ghz i7 in the 2011 MBPs are faster than the a 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 Prescott from 2004.

That looks terrible, IMHO. The iPad look(s) make(s) more sense, because it's a metaphor on a physically mobile device that bears some relation to the metaphor. Desktop iCal isn't.

Yeah, "accidentally," sure. :rolleyes: The price and the buttons on the app store are clearly labeled. You don't just "accidentally" purchase this. It's only believable if the kid is still an infant and randomly tap on stuff, but 11 year old? Come on. :rolleyes: Besides, there's an option to restrict the ability to install apps on the OS.
As many people have mentioned in this thread, once you enter your password to download one app, there is a short window when you are not required to enter it again to download another app.

I've been checking the UK store (Higher Ed + Normal) since the announcement, the Wireless Mighty Mouse is still not up there. Are you sure you're not confusing the Mighty Mouse with the wired one? ( The Wired Mighty Mouse is is �31.73 H.E, �35.00 Retail)

If Apple dumped FireWire IEEE1394 for the sake of slimness, it is highly doubtful that they'd re-clutter and fatten it up with Bluetooth (which, after trying for many years (with other devices) I have now considered to be worthless crap). Unlikely. USB still retains advantages in ubiquity, cost and far more devices supported per connection (128 vs 16). I would see WiFi and Bluetooth as bigger USB competitors.

I always gathered from the last three years of research that "Light Peak" would become a universal system controller, replacing the need for multiple controllers such as FireWire, USB, etc as it would control components from internal devices such as HDD's to external devices such as iDevices, displays and HDD's. This would allow for less parts, faster speeds (although current HDD's may not benefit due to speed limitations, unlike SSD's) and smaller/lighter forms for portables.
