Big boy: Gwen Stefani carried her four-and-a-half-year-old son Kingston through LAX yesterday after a long flight from New York

She's known as a hard-working and doting mother, who is rarely pictured without her children.

But Gwen Stefani was working overtime yesterday as she carried her four-and-a-half year old son Kingston through LAX airport.

After a big week in New York showing her L.A.M.B fashion collection, and then travelling home on a five hour flight, the superstar mother carried the fast-growing boy in her arms with ease.

Wrapped up for the cold Californian conditions, the star looked chic wearing a plaid coat dip-dyed with red paired with black leather riding boots.

With her signature red lips, flawless pale complexion and pulled back blonde mane, the singer looked fresh-faced and fabulous after the long cross-continent flight.

Kingston, on the other hand, was clearly dressed for comfort in a pair of sweatpants, a jumper and adorable monster Ugg boots.

And he certainly seemed a little weary from all of the travelling.
With his arms wrapped around his mother, he clung on tight and wouldn't let go.

Cheeky: Baring his teeth, Kingston got cheeky with the cameras

Weary traveller: Kingston got in some snooze time on his mother's shoulder

After getting in some snooze time on her shoulder, the little man appeared exhausted, although still found time to bare a cheeky grin.

Earlier, Gwen had a slightly more easy load, as she carried her two-year-old son Zuma through JFK airport in New York before their flight home.

It has been a big week for Gwen, who invited little Kingston to join her on the catwalk at her L.A.M.B. autumn fashion show in the Big Apple.

The much-anticipated show was on Friday, the final day of New York Fashion week, and the singer finished the event by strutting down the catwalk looking glamorous alongside her son.

Doting mother: Gwen also took a turn at carrying her younger son Zuma back at JFK airport before the family boarded their flight to LA

Taking to the runway with vigour, Kingston held his 41-year-old mother’s hand proudly during the presentation.

Gwen wore one of her own leopard print jumpsuits, while her son took inspiration from his rock star father Gavin Rossdale as he sported a punk-styled half shaved hairdo.

The first time Kingston graced the catwalk with his mother was when he was just one-year-old.

Gwen has recently spoken out about how she juggles her career and family life, describing her life as like living in a bubble.

Catwalk king: In his fourth catwalk debut, Kingston walked the catwalk with his mother for her L.A.M.B Fall 2011 fashion show in New York this week

'It’s kind of like I’m in my own bubble of me. I have my kids. I have my music. I have meetings, and I have a lot of fun doing it,' she told the Wall Street Journal.

'When I started, I thought for sure I would be blacklisted like ‘what does she think she’s doing?’ but everyone has been super supportive.

'And that’s what builds your confidence and what inspires you to keep going.

'But I do have a little bit of a sewing background and since I was little I made all of my costumes. And I wouldn’t consider myself an equal with any of those ‘designers.’ I’m in my own thing.'
