Just because it's 2-3 sizes too big, doesn't mean you can't buy it. I saw this really pretty dress and loved the colour, but it was a size 18. It's quite a simple shape and at £5 I thought I'd have a go at taking it in. I took in equal amounts both sides along the seam and also shortened the straps. I'm no seamstress so this is a job that anyone who sews can do!
What do you think of the final outfit? My arms are looking massive here - I think it's all the boxing! :-)
Lots going on here this week. Tim's mum got a whole load of bits and bobs (2 plant stands, an old towel rail, some thing we are not sure about so I've used as a candle sconce) so I've painted all those up and tried out the spray paint (very impressed and took less than 5 mins to do!).
I've painted the 1930s wardrobe for our room too, just need to wallpaper it now. I've contacted the plasterer this week and got in some carpet quotes so hopefully we should be able to finish our room soon (at least in the next month). New bedding has been bought (white and grey) so my old blue spot CK bedding will go (either on here or ebay) and also the old CK curtains will go in favour of some plain cream ones.
I've taken all the covers off the sofas and washed those. When we finish the downstairs I'm going to ditch the chintz covers and get some plain cream or white ones. I would quite like something like this, but still have the green.

Tim bought a new winter car this week too - it's a proper off roader so should be a bit of fun and we've saved some money because our old car was more expensive. Hopefully the difference should pay for new radiators to be installed. :-)
