Jobs done and bedroom ideas

Things I've done this weekend (not much really, mainly relaxed and watched films):

Finished the bedroom fireplace.

I'm really pleased with how this has turned out. I painted it in F&B 'New white' (ivory white colour) and used back to black on the insert. After I'd scrubbed down the fireplace it was actually in pretty good condition. I thought it had chips and rust, but it was bits of plaster, which came off really easily. Not bad really for a £50 fireplace! Especially when you consider how much I paid for the fireplace for our old house (£350!).

This mirror that I bought a while ago will hang above the fireplace.

All I have done with the wardrobe is roughly sand it so that the paint sticks. It's been too cold to paint out in the garage really. Maybe a job for one evening this week or next weekend.

The other 5-minute job was to paint these lamp bases in French Grey (same colour I'm going to paint the wardrobes and the draw fronts).

I ordered a few things today for our bedroom. I want it to be more chic than shabby so I'm ditching the Cath Kidtson in favour of a slightly more French-inspired interior (minus the OTT Louis style furniture).

I'm thinking grey walls, neutral linens and chandeliers. Something a little like this.

I've ordered these natural linen curtains and a roller blind.

Also ordered this chandelier from Amazon (free delivery of course with Amazon Prime)
I'm thinking a nice wool carpet like this and super thick underlay.
At the moment I have CK blue polka dot bedding, but I think that will have to go in favour of plain white cotton (luckily I already have some).

What do you think?
