It means nothing to me, Oh, Vienna!!

Well, I'm back from my jaunt over to Vienna. The symposium went immensely well - 3500 people seemed to like it! The client was over the moon as were the doctors by all accounts. Unfortunately the elation of a job well done was somewhat overshadowed (literally) by the volcano. After much ringing around by my colleagues, who were due to fly back days before, we eventually made the decision to get a taxi from Vienna to Belgium (approx 12 hours) and then ferry to Ramsgate (4 hours plus 4 hours waiting). It's definitely one to tell the hypothetical grandchildren. I have never craved vegetables so much in my life - there's only so much deep-fried crap one person can take! I mean, schnitzel is ok once a year, but it's just pure fat!! yuck.

Of course, it's been busy so I've been in all week and not had a day off yet. Tomorrow I've decided to leave early and get some things done at home. We are having 2 wardrobes that I won on ebay for £80 delivered, the electrics are still ongoing (downstairs tomorrow), I'm going to sort through all my stuff and get rid of most of my sewing bits n bobs. Enough's enough, it needs to go. I may well list a few things here (eiderdowns, crochet blankets etc), but otherwise it may be easier for me to sell the job lot to the local junk/shabby chic shop.

More news on a chickens just as soon as I have got myself together and back to normal...
