Today's project: re-upholstering freecycle chair

Do you remember this Victorian chair that I got off freecycle? Well, I've had it for a year and a half now and for the best part of a year it's been sat in my craft room looking like this.

Today I decided enough's enough - I need to do some constructive things and finish some projects that I've had on the go now for ages (I also have some knitting projects on the go too, but we won't talk about those! ;-)).

Here it is - my first foray into upholstery. I'm sure there are loads of mistakes in it, but overall I'm actually quite impressed with myself. The leg is broken so it can't be used as a proper chair, but I think it will look nice in the bedroom to drape things on. I used this really elegant Louise Loves fabric. It's a little bit more chic than Cath Kidston don't you think?

As you can see in the background, the dresser has had its second coat of paint and will soon get a third (probably this evening or tomorrow morning). I hope the Cath Kidston wallpaper turns up soon as I'm itching to get that finished now so that I can completely rearrange the dining room and tidy up the dressers (whole load of things just shoved in the drawers).
