Time for a change...

So earlier in the week it was the big 3 - 0! Tim had a lovely surprise up his sleeve for me...he'd booked a table here at Raymond Blanc's restaurant Le Manoir.

Well, it was a fabulous experience (experience is the word). We arrived at the restaurant and were met by the most lovely door man who was so friendly. Then we sat down in the lounge and had the most delicious and delicate canapes. After the mouth-watering canapes, we were escorted to the restaurant to embark on the 10-course feast (we like the tasting menu as you get to sample lots of different things), I won't bore you with all the courses, but my favourite was the quail and grapefruit, scallops and rhubarb and the pre-dessert comprising slices of frozen blood orange and sorbet.

Today was my last day at my current job. It's all very exciting. It will be lovely to have a fresh start and embark on new things. I'm really looking forward to my week off. It will be the first time in 2 years that I'll have had a week off without stressing and worrying about piles of work that I'll have to do when I get back or impending crises. It will also be nice to not be able to check emails and do work (normally I struggle to let go). I've had some truly lovely emails from people this week (clients and colleagues) - it's so nice to leave on such good terms. I managed to have everything tied up before I left.

Next week I am off to Claridges for high tea (among other things), I thought I'd treat myself and have a lovely time next week before I start my new job. I also have some birthday money to do the obligatory clothes shop pre new job.

I also pick up my new car on Monday so I can pay off a whole load of debts and I've got a car that is much more practical (ie, not rear-wheel drive and not expensive to run). I'm not going to use the car much so there's no point in spending a fortune on train fare and car.

I've got lots of goodies to show you tomorrow...
