Weird week

I've had a very strange week. It started off as usual with me trying to do too much at work and staying late. Things have been strange at work - morale is low for various reasons (people being away the entire school holiday, new dress code, no promotions/bonuses) so they have been doing one-to-one interviews with each of us (mine is next week). Apparently 4 people said they were worried about me because I am taking on so much work and I'm only paid as a junior person. This prompted all 3 bosses to pipe up and ask me for a 'catch up'. I've been feeling quite low and wondering why I'm bothering lately, not helped by them hiring someone in 2 grades higher than me and me having to train him! Anyway, I was incredibly encouraged by the talk with my boss' boss, I asked him outright when they were going to promote me and said that if I have to wait another year it's not going to happen. So 1st of November is D day so I'll keep you posted.

I had today off so I popped to Nutley Antiques and the garden centre. I bought this lovely pot stand for £20. I filled it with some cheap terracotta pots and I think it looks really pretty.

I've had this wire shelf for years and not really known what to do with it. The other day I noticed 2 screws in the wall and thought perhaps I could balance it in them, but the screws actually fit in the holes perfectly! The lovely little pots are hand made old Victorian pots (£5 for 6 on ebay), which I have planted crocuses in. I will probably hang little wooden hearts from the hooks, but I am so pleased with the way it looks.

I don't know where this summer has gone - my interior design course starts in 2 weeks! I'm also going to a residential interior design course in October, more on that another time! :-)

Have a lovely weekend!
