I thought it was about time I re-introduced Jerry (black) and Margo (ginger) my hens. They live in their little green eglu and love to eat their favourite treats - meal worms and sweetcorn. Tim bought me the eglu complete with Jerry and Margo for my birthday a couple of years ago. It was a lovely surprise, I didn't know I was getting them until I spotted the Omlet van pull up! It was such a nice day because they set the house up, show you how to hold the hens and clip their wings, and give you lots of help and advice.
Both Margo and Jerry have been molting and growing a new set of feathers lately so unfortunately we haven't had any eggs for a while now. I was wondering if any of you chicken experts have any advice on how we can get them laying again (the ginger one hasn't laid a hard shell egg now for over 6 months)? We put crushed oyster shells in their food, garlic powder, poultry spice and vermex (herbal anti-worm pellets) so they are super healthy girls. I've heard that putting some white wine vinegar in their water helps but any advice would be greatly appreciated!
