Wonderful Christmas time

I hope you have all had or are having (mine seems to be set to continue now until Sunday!) a lovely Christmas and father Christmas gave you everything you wished for.

I wasn't really expecting much at all this Christmas but boy was I in for a treat! We had some lovely lovely gifts this year. My parents have kindly offered to pay for us to have half a pig (sharing the other half with Tim's work colleague), which will be butchered to our specifications. I'll be ordering it from a friend of ours who has a small farm down the road. It will be much nicer because that way we get to give back to local businesses and it also means that we know the animals have not been ill treated and they have had a good life!

We also got lots (approx 30) cookery, knitting and crocheting books which will really come in handy. One book in particular was a nice surprise! Tim's uncle got me the Cath Kidston 'Make' book. In the front cover to my surprise I noticed it was signed with the inscription 'To Sian. Happy Christmas! Best Wishes, Cath Kidston' and there was also a picture of CK herself holding the book! How sweet is that! He'd gone to all that trouble to talk to Cath and get the book signed! Bit of gossip for you - he mentioned that I'm always getting my sewing machine out and making things, and she said that she has no clue how to use one and does all her sewing by hand! How funny!

Next on the list of super duper surprises was, perhaps the most amazing yet! Look at this beauty (not out of the box yet so have to use your imagination)

- my absolute dream a cream KitchenAid artisan mixer! Also, the ice cream maker attachment too! I was gob smacked! Tim and I love getting Dualit and KitchenAid appliances because they last for years and years but often cannot afford them so we were pleased as punch with this!

Tim got my the red paisley CK knitting needle case and the Nintendo DS game that I wanted - Professor Leyton and the Curious Village. I think he had to sell a kidney to get it though!

I would also like to thank Debbie and Dominique for the surprise Christmas pressies, but I will post about these properly when I get the time, probably next Monday when I'm back from Bristol.

As promised, here is a picture of the fudge I made all wrapped up ready to give away!

Lots of love, Sian x
