New bargain fireplace and more decorating!

Tim has painted over the blue in his office because it doesn't go with the chesterfield at all and is actually quite dark. The wisteria grows over the window on that side of the house so it can be quite sheltered so we decided to paint it in a nice creamy colour. Tim's step dad put up a chandelier in the room - I've had the chandelier for a couple of years now and completely forgot I had it until I tidied the loft!

I love his office now, it looks so bright! The only thing we need now is to trade in the modern John Lewis glass desk for an old french farmhouse table (120 cm wide) or an antique desk. If anyone is looking to trade let me know! :-)

Btw, the wood panelling above is the original panelling from when it used to be a cobbler's shop - it's not a hang over from the 80s! :-)

I also had a bit of luck on ebay. I bought this lovely old fireplace from someone quite local to me on ebay for the bargain price of £50! I can't believe it! When I think we paid £400 odd for a similar fireplace (admittedly cleaned up) 2 years ago for our old house - well it doesn't bare thinking about! I'm really looking forward to cleaning it up, ripping out the awful built in cupboards in our bedroom (see below) and installing the fireplace!

Jobs for this weekend:
- take up the rotten floor in Tim's office and replace joists and floor boards
- cut down wisteria and remove from guttering
- fill and paint front door
- paint rest of Tim's office
- get cushions of the chesterfield restuffed
- order shelving units for garage
- lots of drilling (putting up shelves, coffee grinder, picture hooks etc)....phew! hehe.
