Don't you just love it when people let you down?

I was really tired this week after my brief trip to Atlanta - I did get upgraded to business class though, oh how the other half live! Anyway, I was really looking forward to getting some of the niggling things sorted out in the house, lots of light switches and light fittings need changing, we need new joists under the floor in Tim's office (totally rotten and collapsing), I NEED to bit rid of the digusting brown/black wall in our spare room, and the entire house needs new flooring and replastering. The plastering, flooring and bathroom will have to wait for now until I win the lottery but I was at least aiming to get the lights and brown wall sorted so that all the furniture in that room can go back in the room so that the house can look like a home not a storage facility! Grrrr.

Anyway, I bought some cheap wallpaper from Laura Ashley and OH was less than impressed...1. he hates wallpaper with a passion and 2. he HATES wallpapering so I asked the local handyman to come round and do it because one thing OH hates more than wallpaper and wallpapering is badly done wallpaper! It wasn't to be though...anyway it's not all lost, OH's lovely folks have offered to help us, his step dad is going to do the lighting and his mum and I are going to do the wallpapering. We'll also do the floor between us. I'm so excited because I haven't put wallpaper up before and it's a bit of a treat because I wouldn't usually do it, mainly for the reason that it dates badly and is an absoulte pain to take down but the other alternative would be 10 coats of paint and frankly I can't be bothered. It's nice to have someone else to help you though because it's difficult having a go at things yourself when you don't even know where to start.
